♠}- “Noooo Yaoooo” The King whined getting out of the others grip, much like a child he pulled the large blankets over his head hiding under them, Alfred did not want to take the medicine. And he didn’t really feel like getting up to work today. with that in mind he held the blankets tightly.
"Honestly.." Yao grabbed the blanket of the bed, trying to pull them off of him. "If you don't take the medicine, you can become more ill than you already are, just take it already and get it over with..!" Why did Alfred have to act like such a child, it only made things 10 times harder on Yao.
Katya met him with an empathetic nod, tapping against the wood of her desk. One glance was all she needed. Her maid stiffened, watching the Jack warily from the edge of the hearth, tar black eyes glassy and cold as they tracked the Jack on the other side of Katya’s study.
"That’s just as well. Our Jack has been…Ill, as of late." Katya set the paperwork down, offering him an apologetic smile. "He ate something bad. Such things happen every so often. A bad imported spice can inflame the stomachs of everyone who eats it, after all."
Gesturing to the sofa nestled against the wall with her quill, she turned her chair to face him, throwing a blanket over her shoulders as she pulled her toes into her dressing gown. Her maid, a long, lanky thing, melded into the shadows without a word or a sound, off to fetch tea.
"I am glad you’re here, even if you aren’t entirely sure why your king sent you. We have business to discuss."
"Is he? I hope he recovers well soon, then," He knew the feeling of eating something that could make him ill, and he hated the few days he was in bed sick, he couldn't imagine how the jack must be feeling.
Yao took the initiative and walked over to the couch, sitting down and resting one leg on top of the other, looking at the lady sitting in the chair, trying his best to ignore the cold stares from the maid. It was common for some from the Spades Kingdom, especially one of high rank, to get looks like these, perhaps even nastier ones, and he's just learned that it's best to ignore it all. After all, he wouldn't want to even further damage the relationship between the two kingdoms.
Upon hearing what the other had to say, Yao raised an eyebrow, suddenly curious.
"Oh? And what might that be?" was he sent for her? He wasn't entirely sure, but considering the circumstances, he really had not much else to do, so he thought discussing things would be something useful to do.
♣A Jacks' Meeting♣
Before he knew it, the Jack had crossed the borders into the Kingdom of Spades. He had not ventured out to their Northern neighbor in some time as the last visit was held in his Kingdom. Nonetheless, he needed an excuse to step out of the castle, or more so he needed to escape the clutches of the court physician. He wasn’t one to be fussed over nor did he very much care for it. He was fine and had work to do; jacks always had work to do.
It wasn’t long before he reached the castle of Spades, the towers looming ominously above in all their sheer glory. It wasn’t as opulent as the Diamonds, but it was quite large; their clock tower being the largest of them all. He stepped forth from his carriage, cane at hand to steady himself as he made his way to the entrance hall to meet the Spades’ Jack. He was told the King and Queen were currently suffering from the flu, leaving him to meet with the Jack. He was quite fine with the arrangement since Jacks tended to understand each other more than others, but at the same time Roderich hoped it was only the flu. The Kingdom of Hearts had just survived the plague, but there was no telling if the sickness would spread.
However, he pushed such thoughts aside when he caught sight of the other Jack. He offered a polite smile, and extended his hand to shake the other’s.
"Hallo, Lord Wang, thank you for seeing me. I apologize again for the short notice."
Yao was informed of the Club's Jack coming to the Kingdom to meet him today, to discuss business that, by the sounds of it, was very important to the Jack. The other had originally planned to meet with the King and discuss the issue, but due to the King falling ill, as well as the Queen, it left himself to listen to all of it and inform Alfred of the information shared. He had no problem with this Jack, he seemed like a sophisticated, hard-working type of person like himself, but even he was unsure of the Jack's true self, he never met with the Clubs Kingdom's royalty often, and he was vary weary of them, as was the rest of the Spades. Yao, however, did not see a problem when it came to discussing with this Jack, they always got a decision made without fighting or yelling at each other, unlike the two Kings.
Yao did a small nod of greeting, shaking the other's hand with a smile. "It is nice to see you as well, and it is no problem at all." Yao let go of the other's hand, turning and started to start walking, expecting the other to follow. "I hope you are well? With all of this illness going around, I'm surprised I haven't heard of it from the Clubs as of yet.."

Nestled deep in this trade pact preliminary draft, she hardly noticed him come in, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. He must be in the wrong room.
"Have you come looking for our Jack, my lord?"
Yao blinked in surprised upon hearing the voice, turning towards the woman near the edge of the room.
"Um no, I.." Yao rubbed the back of his head, sighing with a smile on his face.
"I, uh, kind of got lost.." he replied. "My orders of coming here were very vague from our King, I'm not really sure what I am truly doing here.." Well, this was incredibly embarrassing for him, thanks Alfred.
♠}- “Oh god not you to-”
The King just threw up his arms in defeat and just pulled a pillow to his face “Yao, just…set the medicine on the table…” He muttered into the soft plush comfort
"You don't even know how much to take," he replied, sighing as he watched his King shove his face into a pillow. "And there's other things I need to give you, too; get up." He placed the medicine on the table, then walked over to the whining king and grabbed his arm, trying to pull him up to a sitting position.
"That’s a bit of a broad generalization, Yao."
"...."
"No, I think it's pretty specific."
I saw this dress and thought it looked so much like the perfect dress for cardverse queen Liech!

It was a beautiful day in the Land of Spades today, not a cloud in the sky, the sunlight beaming down onto the Kingdom. The Queen of Clubs was visiting here today, and had requested Yao upon getting there. She was most likely going to be surprised by the amount of warmth today, considering she lives in the land where temperature could get to very low temperatures all year around, hopefully she would enjoy her stay. However, he was unsure as to why she had requested him out of all people, usually you'd expect people like her to request someone like the Queen, but he didn't mind. After all, by the way he saw it, the Queen and him were "friends". They did not see each other very often, but when they did they always got along, she's the only one he feels more comfortable around when it comes to other kingdoms, but he always makes sure to be observant, to make sure she isn't planning anything by the King's command. Considering the relations between the Spades and Clubs was bad as of now, he would always remain weary of visitors from there, especially the main three.
His thoughts were interrupted as he heard the carriage come up the kingdom, and by the looks of the colors on the carriage, the Queen had finally arrived.
Yao waited for the Queen to step out of the carriage, watching as she smiled at him once noticing him standing a couple feet away. He did a small smile in return, doing a quick bow as she strode up to him. "Your Majesty".

He felt as though he was being watched.
Yao strode down the hallways of the Spade's Kingdom, holding his papers tightly to him. It was hard to tell, the Kingdom was at the busiest time of the day at the moment, it could be him just imagining things. But he was unsure, and every time he looked back, all he saw was the bodies of the different workers, trying to get to their places they needed to be at. Maybe it would be best if he went to his room to finish these papers rather than the study, maybe then would the feeling shrug off.
So that was what he did. Luckily, the hallway to the highest cards was not far from here, he would just take a quick shortcut he found rather than push through everyone.
He turned to the small door that led to the garden, opening it and walking through on the path. Arthur never let any of the workers cross through here, in fear of the plants being stepped on, the path being destroyed, everything being thrown around. He only made the acception of Yao and Alfred to come through here since they were, after all, his friends.
While walking, he made sure to hint any noises behind him, such as footsteps and breathing which he heard nothing of. It must have just been his imagination after all, and he sighed in relief.

King Alfred was really relying on Yao today. Heavily relying on him, to the point that if he didn't do this successfully then Alfred would look up different ways to get him kicked out of the Royal(which is not possible), and of course Yao wasn't going to let him down.
Yao took a step out of the blue carriage, slowly dragging his eyes from the top to the bottom of the castle, admiring the beauty of it all. The construction was much different from their own, the hearts had more of a smooth, curvy type of architect, in which Yao thought really brought out the best of it. And he also noted how all of this could be used great in battle if the castle were ever attacked, it provided much better shielding compared to their own.. He had better take note.
Alfred was unable to attend the meeting with King Ludwig this week, he was too busy sticking by the side of his sick queen, who had the flu. He tried his best to convince King Ludwig to schedule it to another date, in which he refused to do. So, he sent Yao, the only other one who was eligible for this type of job.
Upon the doors opening for him, Yao walked inside, noticing even more beauty than out. The halls were decorated with red hearts on the floor, the combination of red and yellow.. He wasn't sure if he was liking it since those were his two favorite colors, but either way he still adored it, it was a beautiful place.
A guard led Yao through the somewhat bustling halls; maids cleaning, workers running to deliver stuff, it seemed much more riled than his own.
They both stopped at the two tall, golden-colored doors, with a big heart on each one. the guard stepped in front, pushing the doors open. Yao walked inside, his gaze turning towards the back of the room where the King sat in his throne, with his Jack by his side. Yao continued going towards him, soon stopping and bowing. "Your majesty," he said with an orotund voice.

Yao knew this day would eventually come.
He knew it once finding the royal seal on his body whenever he was young, he knew it once he got older and his mother explained everything to him. His father abandoning him and his mother, leaving nothing for them but sour memories of his betrayal. Yao was too young at the time to remember what exactly happened that day he had left, but for his mother, it was all too clear. His father had an affair, and, upon figuring out, his mother gave him the choice to choose her or the other. He eventually did choose the other, the younger, more beautiful one, leaving his family on the street to go live out a better life with his new wife as the Jack of Spades. Yao held a deep hatred for his father after this. And upon figuring out that he himself had the mark of royalty, he tried his best to ignore it. He did not care for the royals, he did not care at all. His father had left him to live that life, he wanted nothing to do with any of it.
However, after the tragic death of the Jack, the Royals did go searching for the one with the royal mark, and, the people Yao called "psychics", knew the appearance of the new Jack and drew it for everyone to see, so they searched. Searched for a few years, actually, while Yao only hid in the alleyways while they walked by, hid in the crowd to avoid being spotted. However, even after doing it for years, one eventually did spot him, none other than one of the highest royals themselves, the Queen of Spades.
Everyone was excited for the Queen's arrival into the city, he was supposed to be making an important speech in place of the King, who was off doing business in the Kingdom of Diamonds. Yao had heard about this from passerbys, in which he was going to do his best to avoid. Which would not be a problem, of course, considering he did not care for such trivial things.
Luckily, Yao and his mother had started a bakery on the Eastern part of the city years after his father's betrayal towards them, and it had become a somewhat popular one at that. Yao had read cookbooks at the Spade's Library, and with the help of pickpocketing working hard for money, they eventually bought this small place. And they were able to live at least a decent life again. His mother was actually very curious as to what the Queen was going to say, and Yao didn't stop her from going. Though he wouldn't admit it, he was somewhat curious himself, he would just ask his mother to inform him when she gets back.
So Yao was in charge of the place today, and he didn't mind; there were little to no people here, they were all at the Center. Most of the time he was never in charge, he was always cautious when it came to covering his identity, but he knew it wouldn't be a problem today due to the event. Though he was very wrong.

The final theme though my recent projects might spawn a few more surprises in the future! Kingdom: Spades Instruments used: Violin, piano Time: 1:57
Interesting information which you may or may not want to read:
- My headcanon for Spades
- It *was* going to be a live recording but a) I accidentally made the piano part virtually unplayable and b) the new music department aren’t very nice D:
- The theme for this song was ‘miliatry’.
You may download this and use it for whatever you want ^-^
Also, because I’m cool, I’ve made PDF files of the sheet music for all four themes if anyone’s interested. I can’t guarantee they’ll be playable but message me if you want to have a go!!

Alfred sighed as his advisor walked into the room, hopefuly it was not another errand or some sort of other thing that he wanted him to do, he thought he had remembered to do everything..even the paperwork.
"Hello Yao, do you need anything?"
Yao took his first step into the King's room once Alfred had acknowledged his presence, then taking a few more small steps before stopping and looking at his King,.
"The Queen requested that I come and check on you, she said you had been feeling somewhat ill since this morning," Yao shook the small bottle that was in his hand. "He said to give you this medicine." he held out the bottle for Alfred to take.
