a particularly good year. a bunch of my friends got engaged (and me too, in december!) one got married, saw beyonce TWICE, did some good camping, and got to take my sabbaticql and used it to visit korea.

some tough stuff too - got covid, had to have my gallbladder taken out, but overall feeling v v v vv v v lucky.

bowled over with how this summer has contained some of the highest highs that life can over - best friend's wedding (i was maid of honor!), seeing old friends, starting to talk about starting to engagement ring shop with gabe - and some of the lowest lows - a family member died, a good friend's parent has very serious health stuff, a family friend was witness to a mass shooting. the whiplash of it all.

i remember listening to your ex lover is dead in middle school* - it's such a tragic song about a past lover and yet the lyric "all that time you thought i was sad, i was trying to remember your name" didn't make anyyyyy sense to me at the time, and for decades after frankly! and now i am finally old enough to Get It.
