Other Advice Comics columnists making a cameo in my upcoming piece for their new book.
woooh!
Q-Ray and his directors series are great. Check them out.
New comic was meant to be printed today until I got this email. Called up the woman and she said I should expect this when my stuff is obscene and they should never have printed my previous comics. Stupid prudes!
Now I’m trying to raise some money to cover the added cost of printing as the next cheapest I can find is almost double the price. If anybody wants to buy an original painting or comic please email me at [email protected]. Selling everything!
(And if you’re from sydney, never go to SOS print as they’re turds)
Censored but still kicking on.
A statement from Sonia Singh, the Tasmanian artist behind Tree Change Dolls. Hi everybody, It’s now been just two weeks since I started my tumblr and put up the images of my ‘Tree Change Dolls’ (after encouragement from my partner). I never, ever imagined my work would reach as far and touch as many people as it has! I have begun working on some new dolls. About 20 of these will be put up on Etsy on 15 Feb, and I plan to create a similar number of Tree Change Dolls each month. As I work on transforming these dolls, my partner will film and put together a few short videos online showing the process. I would also love to publish a photo book depicting the Tree Change Dolls in their outdoor environments. For sentimental reasons I have decided to keep my original group of dolls with the exception of the two Tree Change Dolls pictured. These two little girls I have now listed on eBay. 20% of the final sale price will be donated to support the good work of the International Women’s Development Agency (www.iwda.org.au). The rest will help me set up my new small business. (This has all happened so fast!) These dolls are listed through my partner’s eBay account, with user name ‘madang_man’. The interest, support and response to my work has truly amazed me, and it has only just begun to sink in that this could be a life altering experience. I will to continue to create reused dolls and toys and hope my work inspires other people to experience the joy of creative toys that are personal and unique treasures. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has tumbld, reposted, shared, liked, followed, favourited, upped, retweeted, commented, blogged, sent lovely emails etc. I would also like to say thanks to the media outlets that made a donation to IWDA in exchange for using my tumblr images in their publications. This experience has reaffirmed for me that the special and lasting nature of our connection to childhood toys is universal. I am looking forward to see what happens from here.

In Your Wildest Schemes: The Free Market vs. Climate Change - Sam Wallman - More comics at The Nib
Capitalism is climate change.
So I’ve completed 9779 and have sent the file off to the printers, I should have the books in a couple of weeks, and will have a digital copy of the book available soon.
In the meantime I’ve uploaded the entire comic here on Tumblr! It’s 12 pages so I had to split the comic into two posts since stupid tumblr won’t allow me to upload more than 10 pages. To see the rest of the pages, click on the links below:

The latest instalment of Sam Wallman's series 'Ashtrayan Hishtry through Political Cartoons', in The Lifted Brow #24: The Medicine Issue.
Just a taste of things to come. I found this ex-Bratz doll at the Margate tip shop in Tassie. She was definitely ready for a tree change! I have re-painted her face, sewn overalls, moulded new shoes, and re-conditioned her hair. Her top is hand knitted by my Mum!
My lovely partner Sonia has an up cycling doll project on the go. Follow along to see them come alive!
The slightly disturbing Comic Artwork and Illustration of
Benjamin Constantine
Everytime I flip through a “Plump Oyster” comic book I get this warm, damp feeling as if the room had suddenly become intensely humid. I get lost on adventures with his crazy-eyed characters, always sweaty and always drooling, in a land filled with strange alien like flora and oozing orifices. I have been transported to the ‘world of the oyster’ and I love it there!
Since 2007, Brisbane based Benjamin Constantine has been steadily building his strange universe through his Plump Oyster comics and paintings. His work has been featured in many national street press magazines as well as international publications like VICE, Rabid Rabbit and Secret Prison.
Check out his comic ‘OYSTER FACE’ - A 40 page comic book about a boy who was evicted from his river-side apartment 50 miles away from the beach and took it upon himself to evolve into shellfish and live in a dank, wet rock-hole by the sea.
