Here, take a well-deserved study break and appreciate the beauty and encouragement of some of the most attractive males I’ve ever seen.
I can no longer hear the phrase "let's get down to business" without wanting to defeat the Huns.
When the slacker RA shows you their door decs
and you’re just like…
Sweet, sweet silence
Today was the day residents came back to the building after Thanksgiving break. After having our 13 story building all to myself (well I mean there were other RAs and what not, but that hardly counts) it is kinda nice to have residents come back. The silence is awesome, don't get me wrong. I love being able to hear myself think and falling asleep at night to the soft sound of my fan, not to the elephants that live above me who drop their bowling balls on the floor on a daily basis. The silence is so awesome. And so is the freedom to leave my door wide open all day long. There is just something awesome about being able to change in your room without first thinking about the residents who may walk by on the way to their rooms. And if you truly take advantage of having the hall all to yourself, you blast music as loud as possible and throw yourself a little dance party.
Those things are great.... but then there is the creepiness of having the hall all to yourself. I mean when you are used to 100 people walking around your hall and the sounds of conflicting music coming from neighboring rooms, or the dull roar of football and screaming fans, the silence can get kind of creepy. I may or may not feel the need to walk as quietly as possible to my room every time I walk through those dead silent halls. It doesn't matter that there is no one to disturb.... its totally necessary.
With that said, I'm glad to have residents back in the halls. Yes, it has been a bit of a pain having to let residents in their rooms all day, and it is quite annoying when they ignore my sticky notes on their doors telling them I have to see them today. But, the sounds of laughter and music and football are totally worth it.
And that was the end of November. Here's to a lovely December. Two more weeks at school and I'm home for the holidays! Just got to push through!!!

Casually knitting while on duty.
This is my life!
why my residents feel the need to run down the hallway will always be a mystery to me…
When you're all alone at the beginning of the school year, then check-in weekend comes around and residents are like:
Every single time. I swear they have a radar.
So true!!
I think my February Paperman board beats my December Reptar/Rugrats board.
While normal people sleep I’m on the floor of the hallway in footsie pjs doing bulletin boards that aren’t due for like another week and a half.
