The Devil in Silver — Victor LaVelle
Book 9 of 2022
Loved it!!!
Imaginary Friend — Stephen Chbosky
This was one of the best books I’ve ever read! What a story man!!
10/10!!!! Read this!!!!
Book 8 of 2022
Omnilingual — H Beam Piper
This was more of a novella length, and I loved the premise! I like deep dives into specific sci topics like how to read an alien language! 6/10
7th book this year :)
Goblin -- Josh Malerman
Book 6 of 2022
I liked this! Heres my issue with novellas and short stories: once you start getting a feeling for a setting and bang stories over! GOBLIN doesnt do that (well kinda). I really enjoyed how this was laid out and the stories were all good on their own but they come together in a really special way.
10/10
Book 5 of 2022
The Hollow Places-- T. Kingfisher
This was very cool! I liked the writing style a lot and the story was fun. My only gripe (and this goes for all stories like this) is that I know this was supposed to be scary but because it was kind of within the relm of 'horrors beyond your comprehension' it doesnt always red as scary, or as scary as its meant to be.
9/10
Book 4 of 2022
The Enchanted —Rene Denfeld
This book!!! Wow! Easily one of the most well written books I’ve ever read but also just such a gripping story!
10/10
(Trigger warning though for SA, very big trigger warning).
Book 3 of 2022
A House at the Bottom of a Lake —Josh Malerman
I really enjoyed this! It was a bit short BUT I don’t think it needed to be any longer. I recommend!
9/10
Till We Become Monsters — Amanda Headlee
Book 2 of 2022
This was…not the best. It was good enough that I finished it but it lacked something. I didn’t like any of the characters so when bad things happened to them I felt nothing really. Oh well!!
5/10
Shout out to those who were depressed as kids and coped by devouring a book a day and you built your entire personality around reading, but now social media fills that void and you can barely get through a book a month.
Book 1 of 2022
Well… long time no…finish book! I read this…short story to kick start the year of reading! It’s about a land where snowmen live and meat falls from the sky…you get the idea! Happy new year!!
6/10
Not me reading books for the same reason people do drugs
In the Tall Grass -- Stephen King
8/30
This is actually the post for the movie based on the story written by King. It was a short read, about 90 minutes, but really cool (pretty gross tbh) and if you havent seen the movie, you should read the story and then watch it!
7/30
The Langoliers -- Stephen King
This book put me on a Stephen King kick...again. Growing up I read a lot of Stephen King but I had stopped in recent years because Im trying to branch out and explore more authors, and I forgot just how good his writing is. I saw the movie based on this when I was young and that made me want to read it.
Its super trippy and really worth a read if you havent read it already!
Wake Of Vultures -- Lila Bowen
6/30
This is such a good, fun read. A mix of my favorite things: fantasy and westerns! I love this book a lot and Im excited to read the next ones!
10/10
West of Eden -- Harry Harrison
West of Eden
5/30
I loved this book, Im reading the second one right now and it just so dang good! It world building like Ive never read before! The parts about language are so well done, its crazy.
I’ve said this before but I think all sci-fi and fantasy adventure needs a little bit of horror as seasoning. It doesn’t need to be full sci-fi horror or fantasy horror but a little bit of scary adds flavor. Build a world and then explore the fucked up implications of that world a little bit
