The crows:

Aarmi: A female crow with a pink cherry blossem patterns and with a kind but fierce peronality

Sisyphus: a male crow with greyish green patterns and a bit of grey due to old age. He is a very grumpy old crow

Zebedee: A male crow with yellow markings that resemble lightning bolts. He is very hyperactive and always wants to play!

Bob: Red spotted patterns that are like splotches, Battered, beat-up and crooked ass beak- His tongue is always sticking out due to that and he is crossed-eyed. he doesn't do much- he just stares at you

-> The former soldier was sitting inside of his truck like usual, a newspaper in one hand and a cigarette dangling between his lips. Today hadn't been as busy as it usually was. -> He wasn't expecting to have an unknown visitor soon enough.

He was skeptical of approaching the other. Why was he doing this? Their kids were together that’s why. He had to make things ok between them.

He decided to stay a ways back and sent over his wings. His Sisyphus to fly over to the window. The little crow pecked on the window to get the retired soldier’s attention, hoping he would roll done the window.

-> Zuka's focus shifted to the bird at his window and moved the cigarette in his mouth slightly. He knew who the bird belonged to and he didn't really want to be bothered with it right now. -> But it was a bird, not the deity himself. He sighed, a small puff of smoke coming out as he rolled up his newspaper and took the cigarette out of his mouth and snuffing it out before rolling down the window for the creature. "Smokey in here. Careful."

Sisyphus hopped in and started walking on the dash. He cawed and fluffed up his feathers before tilting his head up at Zuka like he was asking what he was doing.

Venomshank was praying Zuka didn’t know that Sisyphus is his other pair of eyes. Able to see him through the eyes of a bird.

"Lemme guess... The deity's 'round here somewhere?" -> He reaches over and gently pets the bird's head, sighing softly with an eyeroll. He doesn't hate the bird, he hates the man that bird's attached to. "Where is he, little fella?"

The bird cawed, leaning into Zuka’s hand. He made some little clicking noises before turning his head out the window and looking up at the top of a building.

There was nothing there but the deity was there, sitting behind the wall of the roof. He didn’t want to be spotted, not by a long shot.

-> The truckdriver followed the bird's eyes and sighed, shaking his head a little as he continues to pet the avian creature's little head gently. "Go off and get 'im. He's a big boy, should be able to talk to me himself or whatever."

Sisyphus cawed and flew ack to Venomshank. It cause the Deity to sigh and get up. He wasn’t ready for this but he knew. He had to.

He dropped down from the building- landing perfectly on his feet. That building was definitely pretty high, but deities especially like Venomshank were tanks and could really handle that.

Venomshank had his mask on, dressed in his normal general-like attire. His tall ears were pinned down though, his nervousness sinking into his skin.

He began to walk over, Sisyphus sitting on his head like there was a nest there.

-> Zuka huffed and opened the driver's side door, shifting himself so that he was facing the deity as he approached, sitting sideways in the driver's seat and resting his face on his only hand. -> It's a shocker that this old and grayed man was a former soldier. Someone so beloved and respected in Blackrock. And it was painful to know Zuka once called the deity of the undead a friend. "Ya need a lift anywhere, Venomshank?"

Venomshank was about to say something but he stopped. He looked down, not knowing exactly what to say. What was he going to say? The truth?

Sisyphus immediately flew back into the truck and landed on Zuka’s head, snuggling in and sitting there. That for Venomshank the idea.

“Sisyphus wanted to see you.”

"Mhm." -> He didn't believe that for a second, but decided not to question any further. He looked up slightly at the bird resting atop his head before his tired and dull eyes landed on the deity. "You couldda just sent your bird here by 'imself, Venomshank. Don't see why ya needed ta join 'im." -> He more so questioned the deity's actions out of curiosity than anything else. He was confused why Venomshank wouldn't trust one of his murder to fly alone.

“Sisyphus is apart of me. Literally. Sure I trust the others but Sisyphus is me. If he’s gone I’m gone. If I’m gone he’s gone.”

Sisyphus is him huh? Well. That means Venomshank just admitted he missed Zuka without knowing.

He took a step closer. He wanted to take a seat but didn’t feel like he deserved it.

"I see." -> He didn't particularly care, but he wasn't going to say that out loud. He knew Rocket was in love with the deity's son. He liked Sword, he liked that little fella a lot. "If you wanna sit down then the back of the truck's wide open. Surely it's big enough ta fit ya."

Venomshank perked up. His long and tall ears going straight up. Oh. He didn’t expect that. He was expected to be yelled at or screamed at to fuck off or something…

Was this going well?

“Ok”

Venomshank headed to the back of the truck. He sat down placing his clasped hand into his lap. He’s thankful his face is covered by the mask.

He had to admit it was getting irritating. He barely takes it off anymore. After what happened with Icedagger he wears it even to bed. The only time he took it off was to eat.

"Shocked you can breathe with that on." -> He comments before turning and pulling himself properly back into his truck, although he didn't bother to close the door as he lit another cigarette, placing it between his lips. "Also shocked Dark hasn't bullied ya enough to make ya stop wearin' that."

“I need it.”

Venomshank’s sentences were short and sweet today. Usually he was quite extroverted. He could talk for days if you allowed him to.

But it was shocking. Venomshank has trouble breathing in it after a while. He forces himself to wear it anyways. No matter how much it irritates his skin and feathers.

"Doubt that kid of yours would be too happy knowin' you're hurtin' yourself, Venomshank." -> Zuka liked Sword, he liked the kid a lot. He didn't think Sword would be too happy knowing his father was hurting himself. "Real funny 'bout that kid of yours. Saw 'im not too long ago at some little costume shop. Came out with a mask similar ta yours."

“O-oh? Heh. Seems a lot like him.”

Venomshank smiled a little under his mask. Venomshank used to be so smiley. So joyful. Now he just hides himself.

Venomshank’s Sword was…never home. Never came to visit. He only saw him as a mentor. Not a father. He was lucky there was a different Sword that saw different, came by and checked on him.

"Kid loves ya. Just like mine does with me." -> Zuka in his prime, back when he was a soldier for Blackrock, never seemed like the type to be a father. He never seemed like he could age into someone who's capable of doing so. He used to be such a wildcard, unpredictable and strong. Now he's a simple old man doing his job. "You raised a good kid, Venomshank. Sword's always polite and whatnot, even tho I give him basically free rule of m'house when he's over visitin' Rocket."

“That’s good. I’m glad he has someone he loves so much. Ever since he left the nest I was afraid that doctor would be all he had…”

Venomshank being a deity never expected to be a father either. He was a powerful deity for SFOTH sake! Although…the his parental bird instincts kicked and well…here we are.

Venomshank’s ears perk up again. It was like stupid dog ears. He did look like a kicked puppy when he got here. He still does.

“I- yes…he can handle a beating I’m sure, and protect himself. Although if anything were to happen I- I don’t wanna think what my feral stated brain would do….”

Sword was his everything. It’s what he had left. His Darkheart left him, his siblings don’t come to see him and mortals think he’s a dangerous monster.

Sword was truly…all he had left.

"The feeling's the same for my boy." -> He looked down slightly and stared at his cigarette. He didn't think he'd be sitting down and having a conversation with the man who ripped off his arm. "I know I've got Dark. But it's different. Rocket's..." -> He paused and shook his head. Zuka was always one to repress his own feelings. "Rocket's my boy. Ya mess with my boy, I make sure ya pay fer it."

Venomshank hummed in acknowledgment. He didn’t know what else to say. This felt so awkward. He never imagined in a million years and all his immortal life he would be talking to Zuka again.

It’s so…casual too…he feels like he deserves to get yelled at. Why isn’t he getting yelled at? Pushed away? He needs to be pushed away.

His ears go back down again, laying against his face and drooping like curtains. His ears were always interesting. They weren’t feathered.

“I’m surprised Dark came back as well. Well- to a degree…”

"Dark's a mystery if you ask me. No matter which Dark you're talkin' 'bout. A mystery, somethin' of an oddball that ya can't quite pin down..." "I guess that's what makes yer sibling interestin' to me."

Venomshank twiddled his fingers. Well that didn’t work. He needed something. He needed an excuse to leave or get Zuka to kick him out.

He couldn’t handle how awkward…so serious talk? He needed to just nip this and the bud and get it over with.

“B. Z…we need to talk. Like. Serious talk.”

B.Z…an old nickname he used to use. He was hoping…for something.

-> Even tho the deity couldn't see it, the shark demon's tail twitched at that name. That's a name he hasn't heard the deity call him god knows how fucking long. "I'm listenin'." -> That's all he says as he waits for the deity to continue on with whatever it is he wanted.

“About what happened I- I couldn’t control myself. I wish- I wish I could have told you that. Maybe if I did we would still be…you know.”

“Look. We don’t have to be friends again Zuka. Not by a long shot. All I ask is that we…make amends…not for our sake, but for our children’s sake…”

He gripped onto one of his arms, looking down. He could barely to see the man’s face through the reflection. The nervousness was making the skin beneath the straps of his mask itch…

-> Zuka goes quiet, almost painfully quiet as the shark processes what the other was saying. Eventually a small sigh escapes him. "I know you didn't mean it, Venomshank. 'Sides, my dumbass decided I was qualified ta help ya." -> He leans forward and rests his arm on the steering wheel, putting his head on his arm. "I can't hate ya fer somethin' you can't control, Venomshank. If I did, I wouldn't have let Sword anywhere near Rocket. I wouldn't even let YOU near ME. I know you ain't a bad guy."

Venomshank wanted to say something but he was too shocked to speak. His ears perked up high, pointing up.

He let out a small breath of relief. He was scared he was going to have to tell Sword he couldn’t do it.

He thought for a moment, the silence deafening. He soon decided to lift his hands to his mask and unclasp it, the relief of having his face free soon falling on him.

He pulled it off, setting it in his lap. Venomshank’s face was always too cute to be some kind of monster deity.

“Thank you.”

"You don't need to thank me. Just tellin' the truth as is." -> His shark tail twitched again as he gripped the steering wheel of his truck. He's lucky the deity couldn't see him right now. "Just... Part of me wanted to hate you and tell ya to shove a cactus up where the sun don't shine, but I couldn't bring myself ta do it. But I wised up after leavin' Blackrock, realized things about m'self and everything that's happened." "That's why I couldn't do it. Because you ain't stupid like some of your siblings.... And I guess Dark to an extent too. You wouldn't hurt someone on purpose."

Venomshank tried to calm himself the best he could. He didn’t want to get too emotional over this. He also didn’t want to ruin Zuka’s truck with his tears.

He gripped his mask, hard. He was trying to ground himself right now.

Gettin' emotional, cryin'. Had to teach Rocket that he's allowed to cry and get up." "I had no intention of raisin' 'im under whatever the fuck Blackrock teaches their youth to be like. I'm glad you haven't gotten dead on the inside like a lot of other demons have. Like I have."

He looks away, embarrassed. He was too sweet for his own heart. Sure, Venomshank was a tank and meant to take a beating but mentally? His heart is too squishy.

Sisyphus stayed sat on Zuka’s head but the markings on his feathers started to glow…

-> He swung himself out from the driver's seat, sitting sideways and glancing at the deity only briefly before looking down at Sisyphus.

Venomshank looked up and saw the markings, his eyes widened and his ears pinned against his head.

“Sword. “

Sisyphus immediately hops down and starts pecking out the window to be let out. The bird was being very urgent.

"Hold on to ya tail feathers, bird boy." -> Zuka opened up the door and let the bird inside before closing it up and buckling his seatbelt. The truck's engine rumbled to life... "Do ya have any idea where your kid could be?"

“He explores all over Lost Temple. I don’t know what his plan was for today…if his patterns are glow so are the rest of the murder’s…they all be heading the direction of who started the connection.”

Venomshank set his mask aside. For someone whose son was in danger he was very calm. He knew Sword wasn’t dead. They had a pattern for that.

“Sisyphus should know the way.”

"Then let's hop to it. Show us the way, little fella." -> Zuka nudged the bird gently before pulling out of Crossroads and heading towards the desert faction. Zuka really should've been obeying the speed limit and such but uh... -> Sword's safety was a little more important right now! "Knowin' the doc he's probably out lookin' for that boy too..."

The crow hopped on the dash and leaned forward to show where to go, forward for forward right tot her right and so forth. That crow was smart.

“Can this truck handle sand?”

"Ven." -> He said in almost "are you serious?" can of tone. "This truck has been through bullshit that you couldn't even fathom. Of course it can handle some sand!" -> He wasn't mad at the deity for asking such a question, but as a father he was concerned for Sword's safety. Concerned for the boy his own son loved so fucking much. -> Lost Temple eventually came into view and the truck driver just sped on right through, if anyone had issues then they'd have to take it up with the deity riding with him. Zuka followed the bird's every movement until they ended up some temple further within the faction. -> Medkit's fancy little car was there too...

Venomshank didn’t even wait for the car to stop, he opened the door and ran straight out towards the temple. Sisyphus squeaked and followed.

-> The inside of the temple was barely lit, dust and sand covering basically every inch of it. Rumble and ruin covered the floors and pointed rock formations hung down from the ceiling. -> How Sword was able to traverse these temples was both a mystery and impressive all wrapped into one feeling of "oh god!" This temple didn't seem as big as the others, but with the many pathways, an unexperienced explorer could easily get- -> Chirps. The distant sound of chirps and bleats could be heard from someone. That was Sword and Medkit, the avian was letting out chirps of distress. He must've sensed his father was here.

Sisyphus lit the way with the glow of his feathers as Venomshank followed. His heeled boots clicked harshly into the stone below, causing him to almost slip a few times and stumble.

It didn’t help they had metal on the bottom. How the heck someone like Venomshank wore heels was astounding.

Aamari chips and wildly trying to get the two’s attention. Trying to tell them Venomshank was here! Too bad she couldn’t talk!

"Baba! Baba please!" -> Sword cried out as Medkit kicked at the rumble atop his one wing, desperately trying to clear as much off as he possibly could. Medkit wasn't the strongest physically despite being Blackrockian, but he had a damn powerful kick. "Baba!" -> The poor little bird was tearing up again as he squirmed and wriggled.

Venomshank ran into the room and stopped at the doorway. He saw Sword and immediately ran over. He knelt down and cupped Sword’s face. He didn’t even realize he didn’t have his mask on.

“Hey hey I’m right here ok? Let’s get these off. It won’t hurt for too long.”

"Baba...." -> He chirped loudly at his father as Medkit continued to kick and try to move the rocks. "I don't mean to break up the touching moment... But I'm not strong enough to move these myself! Sword's wing is definitely damaged and needs medical attention." -> Sword chirped again and closes his eyes, his feathers puffing up.

Venomshank hummed in acknowledgment. He didn’t know what else to say. This felt so awkward. He never imagined in a million years and all his immortal life he would be talking to Zuka again.

It’s so…casual too…he feels like he deserves to get yelled at. Why isn’t he getting yelled at? Pushed away? He needs to be pushed away.

His ears go back down again, laying against his face and drooping like curtains. His ears were always interesting. They weren’t feathered.

“I’m surprised Dark came back as well. Well- to a degree…”

"Dark's a mystery if you ask me. No matter which Dark you're talkin' 'bout. A mystery, somethin' of an oddball that ya can't quite pin down..." "I guess that's what makes yer sibling interestin' to me."

Venomshank twiddled his fingers. Well that didn’t work. He needed something. He needed an excuse to leave or get Zuka to kick him out.

He couldn’t handle how awkward…so serious talk? He needed to just nip this and the bud and get it over with.

“B. Z…we need to talk. Like. Serious talk.”

B.Z…an old nickname he used to use. He was hoping…for something.

-> Even tho the deity couldn't see it, the shark demon's tail twitched at that name. That's a name he hasn't heard the deity call him god knows how fucking long. "I'm listenin'." -> That's all he says as he waits for the deity to continue on with whatever it is he wanted.

He gripped onto one of his arms, looking down. He could barely to see the man’s face through the reflection. The nervousness was making the skin beneath the straps of his mask itch…

-> Zuka goes quiet, almost painfully quiet as the shark processes what the other was saying. Eventually a small sigh escapes him. "I know you didn't mean it, Venomshank. 'Sides, my dumbass decided I was qualified ta help ya." -> He leans forward and rests his arm on the steering wheel, putting his head on his arm. "I can't hate ya fer somethin' you can't control, Venomshank. If I did, I wouldn't have let Sword anywhere near Rocket. I wouldn't even let YOU near ME. I know you ain't a bad guy."

Venomshank wanted to say something but he was too shocked to speak. His ears perked up high, pointing up.

He let out a small breath of relief. He was scared he was going to have to tell Sword he couldn’t do it.

He thought for a moment, the silence deafening. He soon decided to lift his hands to his mask and unclasp it, the relief of having his face free soon falling on him.

He pulled it off, setting it in his lap. Venomshank’s face was always too cute to be some kind of monster deity.

“Thank you.”

"You don't need to thank me. Just tellin' the truth as is." -> His shark tail twitched again as he gripped the steering wheel of his truck. He's lucky the deity couldn't see him right now. "Just... Part of me wanted to hate you and tell ya to shove a cactus up where the sun don't shine, but I couldn't bring myself ta do it. But I wised up after leavin' Blackrock, realized things about m'self and everything that's happened." "That's why I couldn't do it. Because you ain't stupid like some of your siblings.... And I guess Dark to an extent too. You wouldn't hurt someone on purpose."

Venomshank tried to calm himself the best he could. He didn’t want to get too emotional over this. He also didn’t want to ruin Zuka’s truck with his tears.

He gripped his mask, hard. He was trying to ground himself right now.

Gettin' emotional, cryin'. Had to teach Rocket that he's allowed to cry and get up." "I had no intention of raisin' 'im under whatever the fuck Blackrock teaches their youth to be like. I'm glad you haven't gotten dead on the inside like a lot of other demons have. Like I have."

He looks away, embarrassed. He was too sweet for his own heart. Sure, Venomshank was a tank and meant to take a beating but mentally? His heart is too squishy.

Sisyphus stayed sat on Zuka’s head but the markings on his feathers started to glow…

-> Zuka could sense the glow weirdly enough. He's seen it multiple times by now, his tail twitching as he finally decided to look at the deity again.

-> He swung himself out from the driver's seat, sitting sideways and glancing at the deity only briefly before looking down at Sisyphus.

Venomshank looked up and saw the markings, his eyes widened and his ears pinned against his head.

“Sword. “

Sisyphus immediately hops down and starts pecking out the window to be let out. The bird was being very urgent.

"Hold on to ya tail feathers, bird boy." -> Zuka opened up the door and let the bird inside before closing it up and buckling his seatbelt. The truck's engine rumbled to life... "Do ya have any idea where your kid could be?"

“He explores all over Lost Temple. I don’t know what his plan was for today…if his patterns are glow so are the rest of the murder’s…they all be heading the direction of who started the connection.”

Venomshank set his mask aside. For someone whose son was in danger he was very calm. He knew Sword wasn’t dead. They had a pattern for that.

“Sisyphus should know the way.”

"Then let's hop to it. Show us the way, little fella." -> Zuka nudged the bird gently before pulling out of Crossroads and heading towards the desert faction. Zuka really should've been obeying the speed limit and such but uh... -> Sword's safety was a little more important right now! "Knowin' the doc he's probably out lookin' for that boy too..."

The crow hopped on the dash and leaned forward to show where to go, forward for forward right tot her right and so forth. That crow was smart.

As that was happening she was trying to claw her talons at the rocks. She knew Sword wanted her to leave but she didn’t want to. Not by himself.

She gave up before flapping over to the avian’s face again. She laid down, chirping sadly.

-> He chokes on his tears and curls up the best he could, the poor boy was shaking like a leaf.

She scoots over and gently pecks at the boy’s tears. He rubs her feather against his face, trying to dry them and also comfort the poor avian.

-> Sword closes his eyes and chirps back at the female bird, trying to let his body relax in her presence. It was hard tho, so fucking hard. He couldn't tell if his wing was broken or not either. "Do you think they'll come for me...? M-Meds and baba...?" -> He figured one of them would show up, they'd absolutely would! But the poor boy was all over the place right now.
