"Vados will be my redemption." It's really cutting to the heart of who she is and what motivates her. She blames herself for all that has happened, all that has been lost. She has to fix it. Vados... Vados is the only hope she has left. The only hope for all humanity, in her mind.

Amelie and Lydia. Them. I'm so not normal about these two. The way Lydia is only allowed so much freedom because Amelie spoke up for her, but then how Lydia's working against her... like they care about each other but some things are more important.

She's sent her own tamers to their deaths. Not on purpose exactly, but sometimes you have to make a decision in a high-stakes situation. Sometimes someone has to head off the Tyrant before it reaches the city, and Amelie herself cannot be everywhere at once. Sometimes she sends people off and they don't come back, and whether it was the right choice or not, she did this.
It's one of the reasons that she's so desperate for Vados to work. She doesn't want to kill anyone else she cares about. It's also why she's so willing to turn against Solus - what's one more?

I love her. I think that's an unpopular opinion in itself!
I am constantly intrigued by the way that design-wise, type-wise, learnset-wise, Metta is so clearly the master of all the elements and Omnicron's heir.
What the hell this means is another question.
