Toy Review Tuesday - Marvel Legends Spider Gwen

So My wife and I went to target to go pick up something really quick, and it was only going to take a minute; so I was going to wait in the car. Luckily I chose not to, and to check out the action figure aisle. Usually our target is pretty sparse, but they just so happened to have the Spider Gwen Marvel Legends Figure. Spider Gwen is one of the best characters, and we have been lucky enough to meet the creators a handful of times since they are always in Charlotte!

The Legends line has updated the packaging and it is absolutely amazing. Its amazing what a font change can do to the overall aesthetic of the packaging. In the box the figure also looked amazing. it really captured the Spider Gwen look! Also in the package were the alternate head and hoodie, and Absorbing Mans ball and chain.

I’m going to start by saying that I love that this figure was released. It looks great, but some of the paint application was a little rushed. And you can tell on her foot sculpt that the whole foot was painted blue, and they blacked out all the areas that were not the ballet flat.

Also the articulation was odd in some places. The foot doesn’t move laterally, but spins arounds the bottom of the ankle. The arms are a little to stiff to really adjust, and taking off the heads to swap them is a scary task. You feel like you have to use a bit too much force, and that you’re going to break the joint.

Overall, i love this figure based on the character. It just seemed a little rushed. The face sculpt leaves a lot to be desired (she looks like she is pissed!), and the posing is hard to manage, but that is something I find with all female figures. But the colors are vibrant, the look is spot on, and it’s just a fun character that you’ll want to add to the collection.

Gravity Falls Weirdmageddon 3

I was finally able to watch the series finale, and let me just say it is wonderful! I won't spoil anythung, but I am just so deflated that I won't be able to share these characters journeys anymore. Alex Hirsch did an amazing job to give depth and life to a show, and never losing sight of the main themes. I'll miss this show!

Toy Review Tuesday Technically not really toys, but still really cool none the less. This is my X-men statue collection. The fiancée and I moved it down during our last trip to North Carolina, and we went to ikea for some wedding stuff and decided to get a case for it. And I think it turned out pretty great! Top Shelf: Kotobukiya Havok, Select series Magneto, Bowen Mystique, and Dynamic Forces Rogue. 2nd Shelf: Bowen Cable 3rd Shelf: Diamond Select Beast, Bowen Sentinel, Diamond Select Kitty Pryde, and Diamond Select Psylocke Bottom Shelf: Sideshow Collectibles Jean Grey, and Bowen Hellfire Jean Grey.
