“Living for Today shows the influence of neo-futurism, the psychedelic ‘environments’ of Verner Panton, pop art, and minimalism, as well as the incorporation of colorful plastics and foam molding.”
Selections from ‘Living for Today’ by Karen Fisher, 1972
“Collect books, even if you don’t plan on reading them right away. Nothing is more important than an unread library.”
― John Waters
Beautiful rainbow watches.
(via Alan on Twitter: “@boursier Rarely seen flatbed scanner artefact. You’d see this all the time in the early days of ebay. Seller scans a watch with moving seconds, face down on a flatbed. Almost no one had a digital camera in 1999. Delighted to see it again. (@GreatDismal will also remember)… https://t.co/VELXbaPsED”)

Here’s a site that charts the frequency with which different words are used on your favorite TV shows, like The Wire. I made some to get us started!
The Wire became less about “the wire” as the seasons progressed.
The people writing the closed captions gradually increased their use of “nigga” rather than “nigger” over time.*
Omar was always more popular than god.
*As I always remind you, things like this are based on the words in the closed caption subtitles built into the show/DVDs. You might be hearing “nigga” all the time, but the caption writers didn’t write it that way.
Also: The frequency is calculated over a full season, so really there are only 5 measured points in the charts.
Mars over Duddo Stone Circle : Why are these large stones here? One the more famous stone circles is the Duddo Five Stones of Northumberland, England. Set in the open near the top of a modest incline, a short hike across empty fields will bring you to unusual human -sized stones that are unlike anything surrounding them. The grooved, pitted, and deeply weathered surfaces of the soft sandstones are consistent with being placed about 4000 years ago – but placed for reasons now unknown. The featured image – a composite of two consecutive images taken from the same location – was captured last October under a starry sky when the Earth was passing near Mars, making the red planet unusually large and bright. Mars remains visible at sunset, although increasingly close to the horizon over the next few months. via NASA
