August Burns Red in studio for new album

Coming right off the Messengers Tour, which celebrated the ten year anniversary of the band’s second album, the Pennsylvania metalcore band has begun work on their next release, teasing fans with this tweet March 1st.

The Devil’s Chord will keep you updated as the band comes out with more details on the new record.

The band’s last album, Found in Far Away Places was released in 2015 to positive reception and is currently available on iTunes and Spotify.

Endon unveil music video for ‘Your Ghost Is Dead’

Life of Agony release music video for ‘A Place Where There’s No More Pain’

Life of Agony have just premiered the music video for the title track from their upcoming album via Metal Hammer.

The long awaited A Place Where There’s No More Pain will be released April 28th via Nuclear Blast, and will be the band’s first album since 2005′s Broken Valley.

SikTh release “No Wishbones“ single

The legendary UK-based progressive metal titans SikTh have just unleashed their brand new single “No Wishbones” from their forthcoming album.

Speaking of the song, vocalist Mikee Goodman says that “No Wishbones was inspired by travelling to many places around the world and seeing the extremes of poverty and how some people have to live their lives; whilst also observing the financial wealth of others in those very places. It affected me deeply.  Anyway, the song is just a reflection, I say in the lyrics I am just a commentator observing, like many of us.”

The single comes from the the upcoming album to be released on the 26th of May via Peaceville Records, which will be SikTh’s first full-length album since 2006′s Death of a Dead Day. Listen to “No Wishbones” below:

Wednesday 13 signs to Nuclear Blast and announces release date for ‘Condolences’

The American horror punk icon Wednesday 13 has just announced via Facebook that he has joined the roster of Nuclear Blast Entertainment for his upcoming album Condolences, which will be released June 2nd this year.

Following up from 2015′s Monsters of the Universe, this is going to be Wednesday’s seventh solo album, and promises to be a lot darker and more personal than his past work.

INVSN release "This Constant War” single

With a new album on the way, the Swedish rockers INVSN have just revealed a new single from it, which you can listen to via Bon.

Speaking about This Constant War, frontman Dennis Lyxzén says that “it's a song about the human capacity to make errors and be stupid and selfish and generally fuck up. But it is also about a second chance, and a third chance, and a fourth chance...“

The single is taken from the band’s upcoming album The Beautiful Stories, which will be released February 10 via Woah Dad! Records.

Endon announce “Through the Mirror”

The Japanese ‘catastrophic noise metal’ band Endon have just announced their new album, Through the Mirror, due for release March 8 via Daymare Recordings.

Recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou, Through the Mirror will serve as the follow up to the band’s 2014 album MAMA, which garnered them a cult following for its unique and bold experimentation with avant-garde, black metal, and noise. Watch the teaser for the new album below:

Exclusive album premiere: "Aporía" by Pareidolon

The Devil’s Chord are pleased to premiere Aporía - the brand new debut album from Canadian prog rockers Pareidolon.

This intriguing 7-piece progressive rock band was formed in Nelson, BC by bassist/songwriter Lachlan Tocher in 2015, and focuses on delivering rhythmically tight and unusual music, with lyrical themes ranging from fun and lighthearted to heavy and introspective.

Aporía will be available for purchase tomorrow via the band’s Bandcamp page, but you can stream the full album right now via Soundcloud.

Skold releases music video for “Better the Devil”

Industrial legend Tim Skold is streaming a new music video for his solo project via Revolver Magazine.

Being the first music video released for the project over its 20 year span, “Better the Devil” was filmed at an abandoned nuclear power plant and features Tim Skold alongside his live band members Tiffany Lowe and Eli James.

The song is taken from the latest Skold album - The Undoing - which came out earlier this year. Give our review of it a read, and pick it up on Bandcamp or the Metropolis Records webstore.

The Devil’s Chord is proud to premiere the new single “Modern Romance” by Canadian progressive rock band Pareidolon, taken from their upcoming debut LP Aporía. The single artwork was created by The Devil’s Chord’s own Serein.

Says bassist and songwriter Lachlan Tocher: “’Modern Romance’ is inspired by more upbeat Marillion and Alan Parsons Project pieces. This song's the poppiest and shortest on the album, written specifically to be a bit of an antidote to the gloominess of the rest of the album. It only features one of the two vocalists, but it's one of my favourites and one of the first songs I wrote so I thought it would make a great single.”

Aporía is tentatively set for release independently in December. You can stream the album’s first single “Abducted!” here.

Machinae Supremacy release new song
