This past Sunday, May 4th, 2015, I host my second successful womb circle with another sistar named Laila. We met up in the middle of the day to begin preparation for the healing event. We went to the grocery store, and art supply store to grab a few things. Fresh kale and collards were donated to the event from the afrikatown garden in West Oakland. The space was then decorated with vibrant colorful fabric by yours truly which was a healing moment within itself….. About 12 black women came to open their womb consciousness. We introduced ourselves, meditated, stated intentions, wrote about things we want to get rid of to make room for new and exciting things the full moon has to offer. We talked about trauma we were holding in our wombs and wrote things that caused blockages in our daily lives. We then set a fire in the back yard and burned those blockages. We chanted “womb” and reflected on the fullness of the moon. It was bright and shinning over the city of Oakland. After that, we came back in the house and expressed new things we wanted to bring into our lives. The craft making was so fun! We made herb wands. Before the event I walked around and picked fresh lavender. One sistar sells healing stones and offered many for the women in attendance, including yoni eggs and sea shell. I’m grateful for the gifts I have been given. I’m thankful that I can assist black women in embracing their womb power. I am now planning the next one and I am relieved that another sistar has volunteered to host it!!
