Rainy Day Café ✿ (Open)
Mami took a closer look at the sodden young… man? (Mami wasn’t about to ask) As he nervously thanked her and sat down. His shy manner and perpetual look of guilt on his face was very familiar…
“Ah yes, you were one of the first to join the tea club. It’s lovely to see you again, Crona.” She tilted her head and gave a sweet smile, doing her best to appear as non-threatening as possible in front of the timid boy.
“I must say, I haven’t seen much of you at the club lately…” A small laugh escaped her lips as she waved her hand dismissively. ”Don’t worry, I’m not going to cajole you into going if you don’t want to. I just want to know if there’s anything I can do to make the club more comfortable for you.” She pretended to get huffy. ”Really now, you should have come to me if you weren’t happy…” She smiled at her own hypocrisy. Like she was one to talk. Mami never spoke to anyone about her feelings, even refusing counselling after the crash. She was adamant in the fact that she could stand on her own two legs, and it was starting to take it’s toll.
Mami got out her purse. ”Before we discuss this, how about I buy you something warm to drink?” She gave a playful wink.
“It looks like you need it.”
Crona flinched as if visibly struck, having the reason for his guilt laid out on the table like that. His eyes remained glued to the floral tablecloth, tracing the designs with his eyes in some attempt to calm down. His mind continued to work frantically behind the black surface of his eyes; Stupid, this was stupid. Should have just walked out. Don't know how to handle this, I don't know how to handle his...
He forced himself to breathe.
"I-I don't... know how to h-h-handle crowds very well," Crona clarified in a small, stammering voice. "A-And s-so many people started joining the c-c-c-club... I d-didn't w-want to r-ruin it for anyone else, so I... I just stopped coming..." He gave a small, nervous laugh as he tried to let himself be influenced by Mami's gentle wavelength. She was kind, even if some of her words rang a little hollow. White lies were fine sometimes.
"F-for me? N-No, I couldn't..." Before Crona could fully deny any kind of charity, he felt the pang of pain that signaled Ragnarok had popped up from his back again, apparently deeming the conversation worthy of his participation now that free food was involved.
"Crona, are you retarded? It's rude refuse an offer like that!" Ragnarok squeaked, altogether too enthusiastic to just be polite."Lady, if you're buyin', we'll take two!"
Meanwhile, Crona blushed scarlet, kind of wanting to melt into the ground and slip into the gutter with the runoff.
