Just a small announcement

I've had a couple new followers this week and wanted to put out an advisory now before it becomes an issue. My project, The Dreamers, is not based off of the 2003 movie. I didn't know there was a movie named that until this week even, so I promise you there was no intentional referencing to the 03 movie in my works.

I'm sorry if people have come to my blog expecting a comic about the movie, but what I am working on is a 100% original piece.

Ok folks, talked to my editor and worked a lot of things out, so Prota actually got done in time for Christmas!

Instead of being human, Prota is half angel, half Raven (anthro), she has two small halos that she wears as earrings, they were both given to her by her grandmother because she wasn’t born with any. Her sigil stands for “Twilight, Dusk, Dawn” and causes her normally gray eyes to glow purple when she casts spells.

Despite the change in appearance, she is still the Prota everyone was introduced to in the comic. I ’m going to go ahead and cover the basics of Prota now, since I never did when I uploaded her original reference sheet.

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Personality: Prota is very organized and schedule oriented, and can become easily stressed when things don’t go to plan. She isn’t generally super social in public, but is always down for a movie and t.v. diner night with her friends. When she does go out with friends, she can become easily nervous around people and tends to stay glued to one of her friends when entire time (generally, she sticks to Caroline). She harbors a lot of self doubt and fears being alone, a lot of this stems from her past. When push comes to shove, she will stand up and fight for her friends (verbally and physically if needed).

Side Notes: Prota lives alone in Esaling, capital of Stontarc and home to the headquarters for all 6 Head Guilds (one for each element) and several minor guilds. She lives in an apartment in what is called the feral district, which is where a lot of the anthro animals reside due to its locations being very versatile for any kind of transit and being full of nature. Prota recently graduated from college alongside Caroline (both took a lot of their electives together, though their majors were different) and both have been job hunting since they got out. At the stories’ start, the Head Guilds are holing their annual job fare for every and all position in the guild (people in the guild also apply for higher positions at this job fare, and it bring in aspiring mages from around the world).

*NEW* Pillowfort

Yep, I’m one of those people that spent money to get early access, and I’m loving it. I’ve been posting all my personal art on Pillowfort as I draw it, so if you prefer that over commissions and fanart, it’s the best place to follow me at.

Comic Reboot Update

Heya folks! Touching base on progress for the updated comic! I’m still testing out everything design-wise. I like the chibi style I showed last update, but I worry that it may not work well with darker scenes, so I’m planning on drawing some angst in the style to see if it’ll be effective!

I also have the first 3 chapters fully scripted now! This will greatly help me when it comes time to drawing pages again~

I do need to address something that is big, the character’s current designs.

The main cast was originally 90% humans, in a world that literally anything you can think of can and does exist. To fix this, I’m giving myself some wiggle room and changing the species of some of the main cast. The current character up for species change are as follows; Prota, Caroline, ???, ???, ??? (??? are characters not revealed yet, lucky me).

The reason everyone was human was because they have to be a species that doesn't need magic to live *it is very relevant to the story*. So, to remedy this I’m expanding the species that don’t require magic to live. Below are possible species options for any and all character in this story, and all are being considered for Prota and company. Also, this does provide a teeny bit of lore, as magic is very vital to life on this world, not having magic is a big deal.

- Human (most common to not have magic, have an advanced healing ability)

-Humanoid Animals (basically furries, does not include anthros of magical creatures like dragons)

-Dwarves (despite being very small, they are roughly twice as strong as a regular human and dont use magic for anything other them building/smithing)

-Angels/ Demons (both angels and demons “magic” is actually a divine blessing, though they can still learn the normal arcane arts) *Prota cannot be either of these

If y’all have any ideas/ suggestions, I’m all ears, as I want this to be an enjoyable story, so having an enjoyable cast is important. Prota is certain to get a change in species though I am thinking a lot about what she will become,as it has to work with things that are a bit to spoily for this post.

Also, a big kuddos for those that have read this post to completion, if you have, then I ask if you would want me to do an art stream of designing Prota and Caroline sometime in January? I’ll answer any questions you may have if I do a stream as well, so yay for more lore~

Prota: Resign Update

I’ve got some sketches here of ideas I’ve had for the reworking of the comic, specifically Prota’s redesign.

First, here’s the first concept design for the style/build of the characters for the comic (they will still all have their respective body build, but will be stylized in this almost chibi style).

Using the above build, I’ve made a rough design for Prota, in this version she’s close to her original design, just with shorter hair and a change or tow to the outfit>

At this point, Im working on picking a hairstyle fitting for Prota, I've narrowed it down to the below four, opinions and suggestions are welcome!

Comic Hiatus

Heya guys, I have some sad news about the comic, it will be going on hiatus for an unknown amount of time starting now.

At this exact moment, I have several commissions I need to address and there seems to be no end in sight of them. I think I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again in case, I have no job my income comes exclusively from my art. So, I have overbooked myself to cover bills and food, and now have to play catch up on commission work.

This means that until I have gotten commissions done and gotten a part time job, the comic is on hold. Once I’m in a more stable spot, I will be reworking the comic in its entirety. The page layout, art style, and characters designs will all be seeing some vast changes to them. During this time of change, this page will be updated with anything major. I may also offer streams for y’all to watch and give live input on, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

I don’t imagine commissions will take me more then a month to catch up on, but I’ve been job hunting since September and have had no luck, so wish me luck there.

As for this upcoming Wednesday (winch would have been when page 12 was posted), I will try and have a live stream with some art of Prota or Caroline.

Halloween Special FINAL

Sometimes, improving your costume works out well, but not in this instance.

Regular comic page uploads will start in Mid November with page 12. Since I got no feedback on how people want to see uploads, they will remain as full pages until the end of Chapter 1, then go down to half pages afterwards. Holiday specials will always be these mini strips.

A Halloween Special has appeared!

This will be a four-part mini comic, and it’ll be updated weekly instead of bi-weekly! Regular uploads will resume on November 7th with page 12 of the main story.

If you guys prefer these shorter panels at the end of October, maybe I can start using them for the main story? If I do, it would be after Chapter 1 has ended, but these mini strips would be a weekly upload instead of a bi-weekly one if I went this route permanently.

I’ve already found a lot of perks with this mini strip style, so please feel free to give input as the month progresses~
