Fun fact: my cat is stupid and would not know what to do if we put a bird in front of him, he would probably get scared of anything.

Grian, what did you do? Who's blood is that?
WIP of a fic I'm trying to work on:
“Why am I even here?” Grian muttered as he hauled the anchor over the edge of the boat, listening to the telltale crack of metal meeting stone before sitting back down on sun warmed oak benches. He had decided to go fishing in the middle of the heatwave because of course he did, he never has any great ideas. As to why he's on a boat in the middle of the tropical ocean? His main job is at a marine rescue centre for merfolk, Void Rescue and Rehabilitation, named after the God of Protection Voidhelm. And yes he thinks Xisuma was being stupid when he decided on that name. Anyways, he's one of the main caretakers and in charge of the pools. The reason he is fishing in the middle of the tropical ocean is to check if any injured merfolk have turned up as there is very little marine traffic, any and all ships not owned by the rescue centre need Xisuma’s explicit permission to travel through this part of the ocean. Hell, even the rescue centre itself only sends ships to this area to rescue injured merfolk, it's why his fishing trips happen as Xisuma doesn't want to send out anything bigger just to check if there's merfolk, and Grian completely agrees.
He is getting very off topic, he came here to fish first and foremost. Now where'd he put the fishing rod because the bait box is at his feet? Oh there. And it's empty, Scar must have gotten into the bait box again. Scar was one of the merfolk that lived in the centre after a run in with a cargo ship's propeller tore up his tail. Grian isn't exaggerating that by the way, a large chunk of Scar’s tail is prosthetic and was handmade by Xisuma. Getting off topic yet again…
“Oh!” Grian almost missed the unfamiliar dark shape pass under his boat, not one of the merfolk he's familiar with. What tail shape was that? There it is again, whale shark from what he can tell, does he have sardines? Yes, yes he does. He leaned over the edge of the boat and whistled, effectively getting the merfolk’s attention as he set the sardines down on the water's surface. Ok. That was a loud growl from the-
Nope! That's a fishing trawler! Where's his radio? Under the seat, come on, be on the common frequency you damn thing. Ah ha, that's the boat’s radio.
“Please state your lane permit for this portion of the Heradonna Ocean.” They won't have one, Xisuma doesn't permit fishing trawlers in the ocean since they use nets almost exclusively. Grian just needs to catch them out so he has reason to demand they turn around and exit the area.
“We don't need a permit for fucking fish!” Oh great, those types of people, he's going to have to radio Xisuma to get Xander down here with the authorities to clear them out, isn't he? Or maybe not if Gem is up to something, she better not sink the damn boat. Gem doesn't live in the centre but she's made a home in the nearby trench, for some reason despite being a giant oceanic manta ray merfolk. They met after she was brought in for a head-on collision with a cruise ship, which apparently didn't ‘hurt at all’, her words, not his. Gem is actually quite small for her subspecies of merfolk, the average size for giant oceanic manta ray merfolk is around 15 foot, much like the actual species but Gem is only just over 8 foot. That is somehow the fault of her twin brother that Grian has yet to meet.
He really needs to stop getting sidetracked, Voidhelm he's scatterbrained…
Why is he copying Xisuma's mannerisms? No, focus, Gem needs to be stopped before she makes a stupid decision.

A compiled list of quotes from my dreams:
You said you loved me and perhaps I was a fool for choosing to believe you, but karma just gave me a gun and a list with your name in red, so who's really laughing?
Death is nothingness, death is bleak, but I brought a deck of cards with your face on it.
Look at me, look at me and tell me you're sorry, pretend to care so one day I can laugh at you in Hell.
You live because of the Gods, I live in spite of the Gods, and boy am I living.
Why do cats have nine lives? Why do the Gods choose to smile upon them while scorning us? Because we scorned them first.
If you argue like a fool, then die like the fool you are.
The cryptids are real, they just don't like us.
Decay is a strange process, fortunately I am not beholden to such mortal worries.
We are the Gods we left behind.
What is winning if not a word meant to inflate the egos of people who have not learned how to exist?
A glimpse into the past.
I remember when I taught Xerosa to dance, it was infuriating but worth it
But then I got cursed and now I can't dance anymore. :(
Don't worry, I'm getting there with breaking it. <3
<3
Don't make me third wheel through handwriting, please.
Xequela used punctuation!
That's it, I'm committing deicide
I'm not even gonna try and stop you.
More about the Benevolent Watchers AU:
SECTION 1: TITLE A - THE THREE HEADS
SUBSECTION A: XEROSA
Xerosa: Our beloved Deity, Founder of the Watcher Order and Watcher of the End
Xerosa is pale with a burn scar from an unfortunate encounter with a Dev. Of the three, They are the least likely to show face in public as They were cursed a thousand years ago, turning Their bones into bedrock and rendering Them incapable of physical movement. They get things done using teleportation, telekenisis and telepathy. They are responsible for creating the Ender Dragon and Endermen and are considered to be the most benevolent of the Three Heads.
They punched me yesterday after I pulled out a water gun :/
You need to behave Xequela.
:P
SUBSECTION B: XASIN
Xasin: Our beloved Protector, second of the Watcher Order and Watcher of the Nether
Xasin bears no scars but is believed to have the most eyes. Of the three, They are the most public, often appearing on news channels to address injustice. However, Their prolonged Watcher nature has caused complete deafness so They struggle with Common and need the Watcher of the Overworld to translate for Them. Therefore, they generally communicate via telepathy. They are responsible for most Nether mobs and are considered to be the most responsible of the Three Heads.
They have decked the Devs on several occasions, all deserved but still.
I will stand by that deserved Xerosa.
That's fun to watch
SUBSECTION C: XEQUELA
Xequela: Our beloved Creator, third of the Watcher Order and the Watcher of the Overworld
Xequela is most proud to show off his Void scars, often switching from the traditional floor length garments to shorter, more practical cloth. They are the loudest of the three, not afraid to speak out on any issue. Many believe Them to be the first player turned into a Watcher. Despite being a Watcher, They are blind in one of Their true eyes, leaving Them to rely largely on Their Watcher eyes, so They do not get out as much as the Watcher of the Nether. They are responsible for most Overworld mobs and are considered to be the most talented of the Three Heads.
They are a fucking gremlin
:O
Don't piss Them off Xasin.
SUBSECTION D: THE THREE HEADS IN ACTION
Many have sighted the Three Heads over Their thousands of years of existence but there is very few recorded interactions between Watcher and Player outside of broadcasting. The common assumption is that players simply cannot exist near a Watcher for an extended period of time.
No I just have a life outside my Watcher duties
How is the Voidwalker anyways?
Much better than he was 15 years ago
We should come visit sometime!
Xasin I fear we might break the Voidwalker if we do.
Even more of a reason (☞゚∀゚)☞
Never do that again.

aFICISNWISPSDIDKDMDK I’m addressing the life series hiatus
The creators deserve a break, obviously, nobody ever believed otherwise, and I think if they do eventually come back it’ll be refreshing to see fresh faces coming back to something they haven’t done in a while. Also, if they do come back, there’s a possibility they’ll bring some new faces back with them, which is exciting.
But also I hate that i’m saying “if they come back”
I’m speaking for a lot of us when I say the life series has done a lot for me. It’s taught me about who I am, it’s introduced me to a whole new community, it’s brought me closer to old friends and made me new ones. It sounds so parasocial and it definitely is but I am so indebted to people I have never met, people who have helped me so much all by playing minecraft on the other side of the world.
personally the series ending makes me think of a lot of things that are kinda scary to think about. The idea of these chapters in our life ending, even if it is just a minecraft youtube series, is terrifying, especially when it’s had such a big impact on so many of us.
But also it’s an incredible reminder that good things aren’t forever but they’re real, they happen, and you should find them and appreciate them while they’re here.
And we definitely SHOULDN’T be saying shitty things like “it’s been getting worse since lim life!” Or something. You’re wrong and you’re hateful. Please don’t ruin this for the rest of us by putting such pressure on the creators.
So can we all just say “THANK YOU LIFERS!” And salute them and have a dead poets society like ending except the teacher actually has a chance of coming back? And, of course, thank you to the moderators and behind the scenes workers that went into helping them make this series so great, and an extra thank you to Grian for making all of this possible in the beginning.
I think some people forget that the Life Series hinges on two things:
Grian having a feasible idea
Enough of them wanting to/having time to actually run the game
Okay and a third at the moment: the ability to get Tango away from Decked Out 3 /j
Grian nearly fell over laughing when any hermit claimed they were tall because Lizzie (who I headcanon as his half-sister) is what, 10 feet tall?
.
Oh Joel definitely has the same reaction.
He's like:
"You think you're tall, you should she my wife!"
