Shark Culling in Western Australia

I love this country. The weather, the culture, the beautiful landscapes and the wonderful animals that inhabit them. As humans we might like to think we know what's best all the time, but we all need to remind ourselves that we take a risk every time we enter the ocean. It doesn't belong to us. Seeing the beginning of the shark culling in Western Australia makes me sad and physically sick. I understand the government believes it is helping protect local residents by doing this, however there is no solid evidence that shows culling sharks actually reduces the number of attacks on humans. I am ashamed that this is happening, but I'm also proud of all of those who are continuing to protest the slaughter of these beautiful animals. It's amazing what we can achieve when we unite. Don't give up.
