The Tree on the Mountain
"On August 13, 1956, a tree was planted at the crest of a mountain in Washington state. Through the years, this tree withstood all the things mother nature can throw at something. Storms, snow, heat, wind. But the tree prevailed. People would climb this mountain to be with the tree. Young, old, it didn't matter; the tree always had something to offer. When you would leave the tree, you were a better person because of it. You had inside of you a warm regard for the world. An appreciation of love and beauty. Of happiness and sadness. All of the things that make us, us. So August 13th marks another year for this tree's rich life. It is a day to celebrate and give thanks for all that this tree has given us."
This tree is my amazing, beautiful mother. Happy birthday Mom.
