Pan is based off this guy, Jinhai who is from his own modern setting original story.
Initially, I had wanted to give Pan a similar birthmark to his left side and back like Jin’s, but FFXIV didn’t offer one that resembles it. Thus why Pan has a tattoo instead of a birthmark. I also had wanted Pan to have a Duskwight colouration, the grey-blue hues of the skin. However, because only Wildwood gave the Elezen ear clasp (Jin always wears his ear studs), I eventuall decided on Wildwood.
Jin’s story is far darker than Pan’s, and his childhood abuse lead him to the path of crime, working as a stalker mercenary who tracks and kidnaps certain targets. Their personalities are very similar, both are sly and cunning, had difficulty trusting people and extremely loyal should they find people they care about. The main difference might be that Jin leans towards Chaotic Evil while Pan is more Chaotic Neutral and that Jin was more prone to violence than Pan. Jin also has scars of self-harm over both his wrists.
