Been seeing a couple of larger branding projects that are exploring a similar territory that I was earlier last year. The images above are from my Orb art series, which I then cast for prints, totes etc. I love the celestial quality of the mysterious spheres of colors. They suck you in and almost act as a tool for meditation.
Anyway, if you’d like a print or a tote bag check em out here!

Watch the trailer for now completed Stanley Kubrick conceived music video for UNKLE's 1998 "Lonely Souls" feat Richard Ashcroft. The entire production spans four large screens and will debut at the "Daydreaming with Stanley Kubrick" exhibition at London's Somerset House. Starring Joanna Lumley and Aiden Gillen.

Some truly stunning models at the MoMA Japanese Constellation exhibit currently on view. Awesome stuff.
RIP Zaha Hadid.
Farewell Starman. Thank you.
Highly recommended: Minimal Wave has released a double LP of Japanese new wave artist Tomo Akikawabaya’s mid-80’s recordings. The result is a fantastically minimal, almost otherworldy synth pop artifact.
Listen to the tracks here.
Sophie’s upcoming album will be released in a limited edition silicon molded bubble case. Available in pink or black. Check out all the soundboard easter eggs on the site as well.

Google gets a youthful refresh.
In an ongoing brand reorganization that saw the birth of umbrella company, Alphabet, Google has just refreshed their own logo with a clean, geometric, sturdy typeface (similar to the recent Alphabet launch) in their now iconic color scheme. While the refresh was necessary as the company continues to expand it’s massive array of products to keep the tone in line with the recent android material design protocols, the logo (especially the full word lockup) feels a bit too playful, almost childlike, in it’s execution – that tilted “e”, while memorable, feel like it’s selling play pens or strollers instead of mature products like maps, document creation, and email.
More successful, is the pullout “G” icon, certainly a mark that utilizes all the better aspects of this refresh but feels more appropriate and inclusive.
