Got a bit obsessed over the last month with the mythic tale of Hylas and Heracles and Hylas’ abduction by water nymphs - specially as depicted in J. William Waterhouse’s 1896 painting ‘Hylas and the Nymphs’. Taking the story and painting as inspiration I broke up the legend into three visual parts - a triptych showing the two lovers, the pools of desire, and finally the mysterious nymphs. Thought it turned out pretty interesting and wanted to share.
