Now I don't post usually about stuff but Milgram is legit pissing me off . Mahirus crime was legit right there , she drove her boyfriend insane because of her overbearing love and he killed himself . That is such a perfect moraly ambiguous "crime" because it causes you to think about how much really is Mahirus fault and how much wasn't. How the fuck did the writers of Milgram fuck that up?! " I love you" was a good song because of the apparent representation of Mahiru toxic love with feeding her boyfriend a rat and them both being disheveled because the way Mahiru loved wasn't healthy for either of them . Now apparently that wasn't symbolism and that is infact what happend . Mahiru and her boyfriend fucked off into the forest to escape the police like some shitty Bonnie and Clyde where they ate bugs and mice till her boyfriend offed himself . That is so fucking dumb I feel like I should have reported the video for my brain cells that died while I read that slop .
Like so far besides Haruka and Muu every charecters legit "crime" and their entire reason for being is milgram has been kinda stupid . Yunos crime could have been slightly fixed by her legit having a abortion done , abortion is still not a crime but it's a million times better then her crime being falling down the stairs ACCIDENTALLY and removing any sense of morality since you can't judge someone on something they legit did by accident. And out of everything to choose for Fuuta to cyberbully someone over they choose some weird copyright infringement bullshit ? Don't even get me started on the fact that preety much the entirety of backdraft was a lie . Like that would have been such a interest concept to have Fuuta start a fire that he had no true control over until it killed someone , that someone being a 14 year old girl . But nope Fuuta didn't just start the fire he kept pouring gasoline until that 14 year old girl was burnt to a crisp along with any moral ambiguity or thought process . And Shidou , I didn't really have an opinion on him when he was alive but now I just feel bad for him because his crime is probably the stupidest currently . Like lets just throw the moral ambiguity of illegally harvesting organs to save people/family and instead have you kill a trucker that killed your family. That surely has the same impact and causes the viewers to actually think .
Haruka was a child who was coddled due to his learning disability, after his parents realized how much they mentally fucked him up they starting to ignore him to the point the only way Haruka could get their attention back was to physically harm other living things because in Harukas mind negative attention was better then no attention . This evolved Haruka into having some sort of inferiority complex where he would continue to actively harm and kill anything smaller then himself because he enjoyed knowing that he was having an effect on people's lives when people would react to the fucked up shit he had done . This all evolves into Haruka kidnapping a young girl during a fireworks festival and strangling her to death. This causes Haruka to self loath until he starts to physical hurt himself. That is a amazing story for a amazing character that blend the knowledge that what he did was fucked up but there was a reason for it becoming this way and how he was abandoned by the people who should have been helping him figure shit out . And most importantly it's a legit fucked up crime , Haruka killed a child because the child was weaker then himself . That is amazing moral ambiguity that actually makes the watcher think about Haruka and his actions .
Muu is also a great morally gray charecter that at many points has the Warden questiong themself , like she even gave them a panic attack the first time they talked because she was picking up on the warden talking as if they didn't have a part in their own though system . Muu was a girl with a natural charm and charisma that caused everyone to treat her like a godess , this causes Muu to have a very high opinion of herself but also causes her to not question her popularity because as far as she knows it's as natural as breathing air . One day a new student comes to Muu school who doesn't start to automatically worship Muu which weirds muu out since at this point muu though it was natural for everyone to worship her . Muu avoids Rei and Muu friend group notices this and starts to bully Rei for making Muu feel weird. Muu never participates in the bullying and instead is a muse for the bullying . Muu however does know Rei is being bullied but doesn't try to stop it since Muu sees this as the natural order of things . One day Rei gets sick of the bullying and hits Muu with a chair causing her to throw up and to break the illusion of her being perfect to all of her "friends" which causes them to start bullying Muu. Muu is bullied to the point of at least thinking of self harming when one day Rei finds Muu after she has been bullied . Rei ignores Muu which pisses her off because she sees Rei as the reason she is getting bullied which causes her to chase Rei down and stab her repeatedly after a short one sided convo which is never elaborated on . This is a amazing story that touches on so many topics and causes you to think about both Muu and Rei and their actions . Both girls attacked the person who was the least responsible for their torment , only differences is Muu went for the jugular. And like it or not Muu makes very solid points in " Queen B" about the nature of her revenge killing.
I can only hope it gets better from here since I've been watching Milgram since it came out and and I don't plan to stop until it's finished. I just hope the writers don't legit have Kazui bite a birds head off infront of his wife because turns out tada he actually did that and it wasn't symbolic.
