Tim Tebow is the guy from “Glory Days”

I hate to do it, dear reader. I don’t really want to write about Tim Tebow and his pursuit of a Major League Baseball contract, but I’m going to do it anyway - simply because I find it so amusing in some way.

Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s awesome that he’s pursuing his dream. Everyone should do that. However, the last time Tebow played baseball when he was a junior in high school. Granted he hit .494 in his junior season, but that was against high schoolers - most of whom didn’t even go on to play college baseball. Now he wants to hold a tryout for Major League teams to showcase what he can do. And that’s the hilarious part. Do you know why? Because at the ripe age of 29, he is officially the guy Bruce Springsteen describes in “Glory Days”. I guess that’s the good news for Timbo. If he does make it - even to single-A ball - he’s got the perfect walk-up song for his at-bats.
