The leaning antenna tower! Someone else pointed this out to us, and thankfully we think it had only been like that a day or so...we've had really windy weather and 1 of 3 support lines snapped. Mike and I put up a temporary support line, but couldn't get it quite as high. We're still looking for a more permanent solution!
Wrapping Up
We're back on the farm and realizing that our time here is quickly coming to an end. We still have lots of things to do. Our grain bins and leg auger system sold at the farm sale, so we're coordinating a huge project between 3 farmers, an electrician, a lawyer, and an auctioneer! We're also coordinating our move to Florida, and pre-Christmas with family in New Mexico. With all of that (and a few more weird happenings!), packing has been difficult! More to come as we finish up projects and make way for our move to Florida 😊.

Equipment Thief!
The farm sale has been over for a couple of weeks now, and there are still people dropping by the farm to pick up their winnings. Last Friday was no exception, and I received a phone call from a farmer who was upset because the trailer he bought was already gone when he came to pick it up! After checking the security cameras, I confirmed that someone else had picked it up the week before. But, when I called the auctioneer, he was able to get to the bottom of the issue. Basically, the guy on the phone had bought the wrong trailer! He was a little disappointed, but was a good sport about it all!
Right after the farm sale, Mike and I headed to Florida to do some house hunting near Palm Harbor. We arrived on Monday and looked at 5-6 houses that afternoon, 6-7 houses on Tuesday, 3-4 houses on Wednesday, and 1 house on Thursday. By the end of the week, we were exhausted! But, you can't beat the views along the gulf coast!!
Farm Sale is Ready!! Greene Co., IL - Everything has been set up, sorted through, gassed up, and charged! We couldn't have done this without the help of so many people...it has been a busy, busy week. We have a total of nearly 250 auction numbers taken, so the turn out has been great along with the weather!
Beautiful day for a farm sale - especially for November in Central IL! We had helpers at the farm all week, and tons of people stopping by beforehand to look at equipment. There was rain a few days prior, but temps were in the high 60’s by midday. We sold all of the large equipment, cleaned out tons of other farm stuff from barns, and got rid of lots of small tools. Overall we had a tough day letting go of my dads stuff, but we’re happy to start a new chapter. My mom insisted on a pic of me and my sister sitting on my dads old International tractor...rare shot of the Fancy Farmer in action! 😊
I'm behind in posting, but these storms rolled through Greene County, IL a few days before our big Farm Sale on 11/5. Such a contrast to the fall leaves!

Quick Update - Farm Sale
Things are moving fast here at the farm! Machinery has been moving all day from the other farmstead. We've had tons of potential local buyers stop by to take a look, and even some interest from out of state buyers! The equipment portion is now complete, but there's still a lot of smaller stuff that needs to come together in the next few days. More to come!

Farm Sale - Martin Smith Estate in Greene Co., IL
We had a ton of fun carving pumpkins tonight! My sister was a little frustrated with the cat design, but it was worth it in the end! From pumpkin seeds all the way to pumpkin decorations out here on the farm 👍.
