Waking up to a baby foot in my back, I stretched and got out the bed, looking around to make sure Dallis was still breathing I walked out of the room, and down the stairs to the kitchen to get breakfast ready. I navigated my way through the kitchen thinking about Chris. I don’t know how or why I ended up meeting him, but I’m forever grateful for it. I feel like, things are going well, and I’m beginning to like him. Turning around to my phone that was on the charger from last night, I decided to call Mama J, since she wanted to speak to me last night.. Finding her number in my contact, I tapped her name, watched it dial, and placed it on speaker. After about 3 rings she picked up.
“Hello beautiful, good morning. “ she said into the phone.
“hey mama, good morning how are you ?” I responded, as I placed Dallis’ waffle in the maker.
“i’m alright, getting ready to go to the grocery store, Im glad you called tho, what’s going on with mom and dad?” She asked.
“we’re just not seeing eye to eye… about anything.. he asked me to come and sit it at the rehab but, we got into an argument about it, so I left. No big deal..” I said as I cut up the watermelon I was going to give Dallis when she woke up.
“but baby, you guys have been through a lot in the time that you’ve been home.. you need to just talk it out with them, and come to an understanding.” Mama J said to me.
“you’re right, ma .. I don’t know.. I’ll think about it, what are you doing today ?” I asked.
“ I have a couple meeting to go to for Chris’ clothing brand.. hey do you wanna come with me?” She asked. A little hesitant, because I used to do fashion in high school and all through half of my college career..
“Uh, yeh.. you know what, I’ll go with you… after I drop Dallis off, just send me the address, I’ll meet you.” I simply said, as I watched Dallis crawl onto the couch, and picking up the remote.
“Ok baby, I’ll see you soon.” She said, and we both hung up the phone. Turning around to Dallis, I greeted her. “Good Morning, my princess..”
“Mornin mama. I want pancakes.” She said to me. Smiling, “ Come baby, to the table.” I said as I scooped her up, as she giggled loudly, and I put her in her booster seat to the table. Putting the plate in front of her, she chowed down.
