See, my problem is that I'm so shy that I somehow invite people to take advantage of me, to take me for granted or disrespect me over and over. And they all act shocked when I lose my shit and they have the audacity of saying stuff like "you're a wolf in sheep's clothing". No, I'm simply someone who thinks that just because I'm a very shy person and a people-pleaser (aka, ye olde doormat) who's afraid of confrontation doesn't mean I deserve to be disrespected. And given my very poor social skills, I won't be able to put up boundaries in a calm, diplomatic way.

So when the disrespect happens for the umpteenth time...

the shyness leaves room for the Shining.

And then it's all an "OMG she's got an axe" kind of scene.

And I always hear the usual extroverted bastards with zero issues say "It's your job to learn how to make others respect you".

Fine, maybe I should learn to be more assertive. Maybe you should learn to not be a piece of shit.
