Light raised an eyebrow upon hearing the insulting surname, not even bothering to comment on it considering he didn’t wish to step that low, Junpei’s obvious lack of knowledge being more than enough for the blind man to comment upon in retaliation.
"Terminal velocity? I suppose it must have had to do with drag forces buoyancy, gravity as well as net force. Am I correct?"Â
"I certainly hope you’re aware that this topic is basic physics knowledge. I have to say, I am highly disappointed in you."

As much as she hated to admit it to herself, his tears broke her frozen heart. The one Junpei she’d met (or better, the one she will meet) in another game had changed so much over the years, she’d easily been able to ignore the stinging within her chest. This Junpei, however, was still the one she knew, the one who believed in her and the one who harboured feelings for an already dead girl.
"Oh no, Junpei." Her voice isn’t as bubbly as before, yet much more serious. It had a subtle sheen of coldness, but she was trying to conceal it. "You did just the right thing. You saved a little girl, you saved me. You’re a hero." (But this isn’t a stupid novel, the hero doesn’t get the girl.) She kept quiet for several seconds, then sighed. She owed him answers, didn’t she? "There’s nothing to explain unless you have quesions." "…Ask away."
*You're still wiping at your eyes but you just can't get the stupid tears to stop, dammit. You're making pitiful noises, Junpei please. Your voice is all choked up.*

In the end, she settled for the latter. If he was going to interfer with the project, he might as well realize that he didn’t need to chase her. She wasn’t the one he loved. The one he loved did not exist. It could only spare him a lot of pain and bitterness. "It’s complicated."

Oh well, that was a surprise. Junpei wasn’t supposed to see her again in a few years, thus Akane couldn’t hide the shock that flashed over her features for just an instant. Without having the time to question the situation, the woman took a step back and forced her trademark smile onto her lips, followed by a a slight cough. There wasn’t much sense in pretending to be the sweet girl anymore, but she’d not thought of that as she’d spoken up. "Junp— Jumpy?"
"What are you— umm—?"
