Yoshi Saito is a comedy writer from Japan. He’s on a sketch writing team, called, Girls' Night. He’s currently studying improv at UCB.
You know the rules of the game...if I don’t get your bio, I can make it up! And while he didn’t headline the show, our runner up did win the taste test in identifying most of the mystery ingredients.
Sefa Urgenc grew up in a modest home on the ranch, tending to the Babes and the Bessies and the Foghorn Leghorns all before breakfast, and a practice session for the varsity sports team of the season (he was on all of them). He was a friend of everyone and a foe of none. After school, he would alternate between volunteering to tutor his classmates, hand out food at the shelter, and working at the local fast food chain invented in this very country. On his weekends, if he wasn’t helping the family farm, he would likely be on a very heterosexual date with his best lady suitor of the moment. He loved a good drive-in. It was there that he discovered his passion for comedy and his disdain for food that wasn’t popcorn. He decided that after achieving several scholarships for his athletic accomplishments he would take his talents to the big city and leave his parents crying in the dust. So far, he’s done comedy in front of many packed houses—filled with other comedians waiting their turn, because apparently, that’s how an open mic works. He was very excited to book this gig before he goes back to the farm forever.

Two Comedians with limited cooking abilities will battle it out in ridiculous culinary challenges for the title of The Foodiest Funny and the chance to headline the show.
As we celebrate the birth of America as a free nation, in July, we will celebrate those who help us make our country remarkable: our many Non-Native Americans!

You’ve gotta follow @markreisscomedy who delighted us onstage with Helluva Bottom-Carter. The queen who won the night with her sausage stack...for PRIDE, damnit! And while she did lose a few nails in the process, none of them made it into the dish, yay! Here’s her bio, that was made up for her:
Helluva Bottom-Carter has trained at the world-renowned L’Ecole Des Tim Burton where she learned the art of the fuckboi puff pastry. You may have also seen her on Chopped: Fleet Street Edition. She works well with her hands, and also other people’s hands. Which was what got her into the world of puppetry. Her latest show focuses on the inequities in the realm of hand-modeling. She’s bound to win a Humanitarian Award for Made Up Bullshit any day now. When she’s not bringing light to an oft-ignored subject, she can be found on twitter pretending to be a self-proclaimed smartass comic under the pseudonym Mark Reiss, please give a follow @markreisscomedy.
Thanks to the super Talented @michaelraysolis for bringing us Queen Cholula Lemon at last night’s show. Her dish may not have won, but her performance was fierce, political and fabulous. She may have to change her name, thanks to a cease and desist from the hot sauce company, but until then, please enjoy the bio we provided her:
Cholula Lemon is as spicy as she is sour, but in today’s climate can you blame a bitch? She can be found all over the place, including Target, Walmart, Walgreens and even Amazon.com. She packs quite a punch and should only be used with adult supervision and consent from all parties. Speaking of parties, she would love to crash your next one. She may not be classically trained, but she’s learned all she needs to know from the streets, which makes her one hot bad ass.  She will bring her heat to the dance party and leave you with some nasty burns…but only if you put her near your naughty parts. She’s also great with kids.
Hey, @johnnyiuzzini For our first ever Drag Themed show, Host Adrienne E Cooper drew inspiration from Motorcycle and Chocolate Enthusiast, Johnny Iuzzini. She introduced the world to Johnny MeOozy for the PRIDE centered show, and would love to have the real bad boy of chocolate on the show, should he ever feel so brave.Â

So, when it came time to plan for summer shows, who better to represent the pride of Queens than the Drag Performers who live the meaning of the word? As usual, the opportunity was then offered for a chef/restaurateur to try a little Dragover. Watch the chef become Queen or King of the stage, while we swap the Queens’ hot irons for a hot plate and surprise them with a myriad of absurd ingredients that stay in line with our queer theme. Â

May is our host’s birthday month and right now she’s super grateful for the recent press about the show from Edible Queens and NY1. So, in addition to nicer weather, she’s hoping for a great turnout as a birthday treat at next month’s show. May’s lineup features a comic-to-watch, a comic making her return to the stage after some major life changes and a local pit master.Â

An unlikely fusion of arts is cooking up in Astoria. 'The Food Funny' is a new, monthly comedy show at QED.
NY1 took a bite out of last night’s The Food Funny! Check it out and come see for yourself on May 10th!
Sue won the competition fair and square, by accidentally tossing in a ton of pepper! In her winning set, she was surprised by the amount of food humor she does!
 Now, in the rules, if I don’t get her bio I get to make it up! So here’s what I wrote:
Sue Smith is a bathtime Opera Singer who was voted one of the 10 Loudest Women in NYC by Time In Atlanta. Most recently, she was on Lifetime's Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life, when she vocalized all of the computer sounds. Sue is a versatile performer with experience in yodeling, modeling, and waffling. Her solo character show, Hear me, See Me, Don’t Depend on Me ran for three years in the brain of her now-husband before they’d even ever met. Sue has cooked up tons of videos, including “Is my cat on fire, or is this turkey breast ready?” You can follow her if you want, but she usually carries mace in her internet.
But, if you want the real thing, you should check out her website because she’s very funny, and deserves your attention.
Jared brought joy, laughter, and light to the stage last night, but that wasn’t enough for him to win the competition! And while he exclaimed the competition was rigged, due to Sue and Sam both coming from Pennsylvania, I believe it had more to do with pepper.
Jared Wilder is classically trained in Shakespeare, Chekhov, and Super Mario Bros. NYU Tisch Honors Scholar with a BFA from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Studied w/ Steppenwolf, Second City, UCB, AND, Gary Austin, Michael Gellman, David Razowsky, and Scotty Watson. Our Brave Chef, Ann, was very funny as she addressed the silliness of food nutrition that we can all relate to--calling out those who think that Gluten-Free means Glutton-Free, and how ridiculous it is that eggs have been around since the beginning of human life and yet we still can’t figure out whether or not they’re part of a balanced diet!
Ann Nunziata is a chef with a strong background in nutritional sciences. She is currently a full-time instructor at the Natural Gourmet Institute. Chef Ann has cooked in award-winning plant-based kitchens including Millennium Restaurant, the Omega Institute, and Ravens Restaurant, where she became known for her temptatious vegan Tea Time desserts. She also cooks with Union Square Greenmarket, First Descents, and Wellness In The Schools. Her favorite spice is nutmeg and she keeps her Instagram account well-fed at @AnnZiata.

Tahlia Robinson is our next comedian to take the challenge of making the food eat good tonight! She and I met at the UCB East many moons ago, when we both shared our love of food with one another, and I’ve wanted to have her on this show ever since!
Tahlia is an NYC Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) trained improviser, sketch writer, and is a Company Member for Theatre 99 in Charleston, SC. She performs with the NY Indie Improv team Affirmative Action, The Future is Female, and Dirty Little Secrets Improv. Comedy Music is something she loves to perform as well. Her most recent songs are about food and life in New York City. Maybe we’ll get the chance to hear some tunes this evening?!
Plenty of shows coming up for this star, but most exciting is her SOLO show at The PIT: Â The Real Bubble Lives of Building 104Â , beginning in April!
