Aussie pig farmers want laws to stop activist exposing them

The Australian pork industry is calling for tougher penalties against animal activists who illegally film on farms.

Australian Pork Limited (APL) chief executive Andrew Spencer says an increase in activity over the past 18 months has seen animal rights activists target properties in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

“These activists are illegally entering farms, they’re illegally taking footage, they’re illegally leaving, in some cases, surveillance devices to spy on people,” he told ABC’s Landline program.

“Those farm raids have been extremely distressing for the farmers involved, as you could imagine. It’s like having your house burgled.”

The pork industry says it wants better legal protection for farmers who are being “viciously” defamed by material posted on the internet by animal rights groups.

Mr Spencer argues the aim of these campaigns is not to improve animal handling practices, but to shut down the entire pork industry.

“In some cases we’ve seen that they actually set up negative shots, they move dead piglets around for example,” he said.

Wow, these pig fuckers, I mean farmers are really pissed that people are touching their dead piglets.

On a personal note, I’ve gave up buying pork products a while ago because of the way these animals are treated and the fact they are smart like dogs intelligent. As much as I love bacon. And I do. I fucking love it. I just can’t do that any more. Before you rip me, “Oh but you still eat cows”. FUCK COWS. I fucking HATE cows.

The goblin shark is a rare species of deep-sea shark. Sometimes called a “living fossil” with a lineage some 125 million years old. This pink-skinned animal has an elongated, flattened snout, and highly protrusible jaws containing prominent nail-like teeth. Goblin sharks inhabit upper continental slopes, submarine canyons, and seamounts throughout the world at depths greater than 100 m.

This species hunts for teleost fishes, cephalopods, and crustaceans both near the sea floor and in the middle of the water column. His long snout is covered with ampullae of Lorenzini that enable him to sense minute electric fields produced by nearby prey, which he can snatch up by rapidly extending his jaws.

TCS Vigil May 14th

The faces of those whose lives were taken yesterday. Although they were friendlier than those trapped in the majority of trucks that we have seen, many were still obviously terrified, while others seemed depressed, resigned, and dejected. 

These babies deserved so much better than a dirty crowded truck and a violent death. Please help be a part of the solution, so that one day, no person (human or otherwise) will ever face cruelty like this again, and choose veganism!!

This is a really great idea for a way to give bees and other insects water without fear of them drowning. Put marbles in a container and fill with water just enough to give them a surface to land on, so they can safely have a drink.
