@thefourtemperaments-blog
Choleric
Melancholic
Phlegmatic
Sanguine
What is a situation you would like to see the different reactions of the temperaments on?
Just found your blog, typed in 'choleric'. Right now, I am in a situation where I (the choleric-phlegmatic) am a third wheel. I've been kind for months but am deliberately being ignored. The two individuals are a choleric-sanguine and a Gemini sanguine. It's pissing me off and they're flaunting here on Tumblr deliberately. I either don't understand it, am overreacting or need to tell them both to fuck off. What's your opinion? Thanks so much <3
So sorry I did not see this sooner, any advice at this point may be too late, but I can still try...
It could be possible that they are not actually flaunting themselves on purpose, as sanguines, even partial ones, tend to be that way just by nature, and they can be a bit selfish in that manner, but they just aren't thinking otherwise. You are generally a calm laid back person, but after a while things get to you too, and so of course this would get to you, and because of that you are building up a lot of steam. You have to find a way to let that out before you do overreact. You want to handle this situation carefully, and getting too upset might make matters worse. If you can figure a way to explain your thoughts in a calm easy going way, maybe with a light hearted joke that would help. They should enjoy the bit of humor, and be more open to the idea.
Again sorry the advice is late, I'll be on top of it batter next time.
I apologize, there were a couple of you that submitted asks that never showed up, I will get right on those
I won't be posting to much, but my ask is always open to questions about the temperaments/humors.
Four Temperaments is a theory of psychology that stems from the ancient medical concept of humorism.
Sanguine - The Sanguine temperament personality is fairly extroverted. People of a sanguine temperament tend to enjoy social gatherings, making new friends and tend to be quite loud. They are...

The Four Temperaments Recieving a Gift They Dislike
Choleric: Yeah, can I have the receipt?
Sanguine: Oh! what a wonderful gift, thank you so much! *re-gifts it later*
Melancholic: Oh... no no it's nice, thank you... *sigh*
Phlegmatic: Thank you, I think its lovely. *keeps it stored away*
A poem I wrote
The fire that comes will bring its rage, all the heartbreak and pain it knows. its emotions changing as it flickers, its passion will pierce as with arrows. The wind dances past your hanging limbs, silent laughter playing around you. Changes so quickly, sweet then bitter, a frown thy wind will quickly undo. The earth as slow and quiet it is, has thoughts that would upset and hurt. Stable it is, holding you with care, however it wont hesitate to treat you less than dirt. The water, so carefree and flowing, is taken in your roots, contently. Without complaint so happily going, it wishes to help you, smiling so meekly.
See the temperament test to discover your dominant classic temperament and to learn more about your fundamental dispositions, your bright side, your dark side, and some things you need to know in order to make the best of who you are.
According to the book that was endorsed to me there are four âso calledâ temperaments which defines your personality and this are the sanguine, choleric, melancholic and phlegmatic.Â
SANGUINE
The Sanguine is receptive by nature and outgoing. He is usually called a âsuper-extrovertâ. This temperament is usually thought of as a ânatural salesmanâ but they also tend to enter professions that are outgoing such as acting.
He âleads into a room with his mouthâ and is never at a loss for words. His outgoing nature makes him the envy of more timid temperament types. He is most comfortable around people and does not like being alone. He is often known as a âtoucherâ; reaching out and touching the arm or shoulder of the person he is talking with. This can make more introverted temperaments nervous and uncomfortable.
His energy can make him seem more confident than he actually is and his cheery disposition often cause others to excuse his weaknesses by saying, âThatâs just how he isâ. The sanguine is mostly a happy person whom others are glad to have around.
CHOLERIC
The choleric is the most forceful and active of the four types. He is strong-willed and independent and opinionated. The choleric thrives on activity. He is the most practical and makes sound, quick decisions. He is not afraid of obstacles and tends to drive right through or over problems. He is probably the strongest natural leader of the four types. He has the most problem with anger and does not display compassion easily. He is quick to recognize opportunities and quick to capitalize on them - though details irritate him and, unless he learns to delegate, he will often gloss over details. His strong will and determination may drive him to succeed where more gifted people give up.
MELANCHOLIC
The melancholy is an introverted temperament type. His natural style is analytical and perfectionist. He is the most moody of types ranging from highly âupâ to gloomy and depressed. During his low periods he can be very antagonistic and does not make friends easily. He is the most dependable of the temperaments due to his perfectionist tendencies. His analytical ability allows him to accurately diagnose obstacles and problems, which often keep him from making changes - he prefers the status quo and may seem overly pessimistic.
PHLEGMATIC
the phlegmatic is best characterized by the words âeasy goingâ. He is the calm and steady person who is not easily disturbed. He is the easiest temperament type to get along with. Life for him is happy, unexcited and calm. Underneath the calm exterior, the phlegmatic is the most timid temperament type. He often uses humor to make his points. The phlegmatic is more an observer and does not involve himself in the activities of others.
Phlegmatics make excellent teachers, counselors and administrators. They are very dependable and organized and, while they never volunteer, they make good group leaders.
âAfter defining each temperament in âblack and whiteâ we must look realize that no one is completely one temperament type. Each of us is a blend of usually two and occasionally 3 types. One temperament type is dominant and one is secondary. And donât forget that training, lifestyle, upbringing and other circumstances may have forced an individual to function âoff styleâ. The saddest people I have seen are those who have âput onâ a style that is not theirs naturally for so long that it has become a habitual way of lifeâ - which only means that our personality can be a combination or more than  2 temperaments:)
