Y’all are so hypocritical sometimes, it’s draining being on here.
Every time internet safety comes up, excuses roll out:
“Not this mom”
“We don’t know their birthdays”
“How would we know what they are doing?”
That’s the point. The child’s safety should be the number one priority, NOT OUR entertainment. Internet safety isn't a spectrum, it's common sense. Said dancer should have a private account where everything is monitored, and only people THEY KNOW can watch.
“Then the dance fandom wouldn’t be a thing.”
That’s the fucking point. Strangers shouldn’t have access to where a dancer is at any given moment. And if a parent gives that out, they don’t give a fuck about their child’s safety. If your kid has 100 followers, you should know all of them. No one with more than 1,000 followers knows every single handle, and not all 1,000 people should have access to a child, ESPECIALLY with AI stuff nowadays.
I’m happy that some livestreams are requiring passwords, because that’s finally a step in the right direction.
And while I’m ranting, why the fuck are you betting on children?? Not only do they all dance the same, but that’s weird. These are kids y’all don’t know, and y’all are saying competitions are rigged because of that. Grow up and find a new hobby. Y’all are being parasocial with CHILDREN. Like do y'all not understand how you guys' sound???
With that being said, I’m going to Hobby Lobby to get a new notebook for a book I’m writing. I advise y’all to do the same.
