‘Why Must We Feel?’ Masterpost

Hello my fellows! If you are reading this then that means you like ‘Why Must We Feel?’ made by my good friend WhatamIDoing_GoodQuestion (and me too ig), or you would like it…I think. Whatever the case, this is the master post for that fic so you can see all the details! If anyone wishes to submit art for this fic please either @ me and use the Why Must We Feel hashtag (located in this post), just so we can see the most amount of amazing work as possible. Also feel free to ask any questions and we will both try and answer them as soon as possible. So without further ado, enjoy the results of episode 8s mean…mean actions. (Yall that episode messed us up) >:3

Summary:

While searching the office above the Cabin Fever Labs' Cathedral with N, V, and Nori for information related to the Absolute Solver that the humans had left after the stunt Cyn pulled, Uzi discovers an old computer set that was dragged to her by Cyn. Finding this totally suspicious and likely dangerous, Uzi still decides to go ahead and look through it at her house with her mom. Surely nothing bad will be on it!

Caine doesn’t know what to do anymore. He gave his troupe everything they wanted in that adventure: answers, an exit, something real. Yet, it wasn’t enough. Nothing Caine did was enough. Was...was he failing at his purpose?

Before he can finish that spiral though, a strange pop appears in his view that he hasn't seen in forever.

In other words: Me and a friend(hey that’s me!) are coping with episode 8 of TADC and really like MD. Also Nori is really cool.

Technically her birthday was yesterday, however my tumblr wouldn’t let me post yesterday :(. Worker Drone Caine >:3

Nothing is wrong with his code it's normal trust me man

It's not that well conveyed in the drawing but his clothes are meant to be a bit big on him since they're mostly Hand-Me-Downs. The scarf was custom made and he painted his helmet with some help though. He loves being teeth, okay?

He's also Uzi's height. Somehow both of them are the exact same height due to the laws of the universe saying neither can't not be the shortest of a group of people.

Current obsession: God you already know... Project Hail Mary. It's all I've been thinking about. I love how different it is from other apocalypse sci-fi's, it's just so full of hope and love. There's nothing I love more than a cowardly character who overcomes their fears to save others. This film is amazing, plot, characters, science and all, and god the colors! I'll probably drop some rant about that later this week lol.

Currently reading: The Nice Guys novelization by Charles Ardai. I saw quotes from twitter and thought I'd check it out. I was surprised to find that instead of a book-turned-film, it's actually the opposite XD.

Currently working on: Finishing my one-shot fics so I can actually post them before the first semester starts TT

Hi there! I've been binging Why Must We Feel, and I really enjoy it so far. I have a question for the author: who is the hardest character to write and why?

Also your art is yummy and I wanna eat it. :)

First, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! You are so so sweet!! Now for the answer:

WhatamIDoing_GoodQuestion: Probably Jax ig. Like, he's a solid character and all of that, but he's one of the least interesting ones to me now. Because of that, when he's a bit more in the focus of the fic, it's harder for me to be motivated to write him and keep him in character. His character is also the one we had to think about the most due to the fact Caine doesn't have a violent mental breakdown. He actually has time to think and rest, plus with his fear and avoidance of reality, we had to decide if he was going to be more tired like in episode 8 or regress to avoid emotional confrontation. Because of all that, he's probably the hardest to write for us. I may not be the biggest Jax fan, but I don't hate him. I do want to do his character justice too. He's just not the biggest focus in this fic too.

Me: I would agree with Jax. Even if I don’t actually write as much, trying to help brainstorm what he would actually do in any given situation is just difficult for me. And also he one of my least favorites so it’s just not as exciting to make silly interactions for him, meanwhile I am just brimming with ideas for Caine. He’s a very complex character, and he is written very well, I’m just not great at writing it.

Do tell the author that I think they're doing a GREAT job with everyone. I can HEAR their voices in my head (especially Jax's, I'm reading all his dialogue in that laid-back, sarcastic tone and I dont even LIKE the guy!). You know you've succeeded when a newbie fan to both TADC and MD (I caught up with all the episodes in the course of 3 weeks due to a 2-week TADC break and I binged MD in 3 days, finishing on Tuesday) can hear everyone's voices. Characterizations are on-point! 🩷🩷🩷🩷
