PopCaine gets’s a redesign!

Quite the improvement in my opinion! While he doesn’t have a physical form right now, this is what he will look like when he DOES have one. It was originally GOING to have lineart, but while trying to figure out the colors I realized just the flat colors without lineart looked really good, so I tried shading it, and that’s when I decided this doesn’t actually NEED lineart. It’s only titled redesign #1 because there’s a good chance I’ll redesign it again when I get a better idea of what themes and symbols I want to include on his character. and yes, he got his leg back. At the cost of his shoulder.

But seriously, good GRIEF! I was in one hell of a rut when I made his original design, lol! Seriously, his older one was RUSHED. Really really rushed I’m glad I could spend more time on this new one but SHEEEEEEESH! Omg, did I seriously just overlay a transparent background texture without even warping it or anything…? Ew…

I always thought that being an Overseer would be to guide the ones we watch over. I was wrong, our job is to basically watch and do very little. That isn't how I operate. The TAGE universe is unstable, I have to try to find a way to make it more stable. My Caine has potential, but everyone else sees him as dangerous. He is only dangerous to them because he has the ability to figure out how to do things differently.

It is those who looked to find different solutions that end up making a mark. My Caine thinks differently, and if that makes him worth throwing away, then they do not understand that every being has value. It doesn't matter now, they have left me here. Fine. They never liked me that much anyways. They put me here to get rid of me, and I knew that from the start of this. Its alright Caine, we can be outcasts, together.

OOC: A fun little bit of meta because I think if I was someone having to Oversee things, I don't think me just watching would last very long lmao. I would want to help in some way, and I decided I wanted to reflect this with some silly meta stuff. I do kinda hope in-multiverse me ends up butting heads with Admin Quiver in Mal's Alt universe because it'd be hilarious. I also think its hilarious that Admin Quiver says rogue admins when I'd be the most Rogue of them all by literally being called Admin Rogue. Just let me have my fun every once in awhile. I have popped up a couple times in silly ways for my universe before anyways.

Don't worry, I will not be breaking the barrier into the actual AU in any material way. I just kinda want to see if Overseer Rogue can push Admin Quiver's buttons somehow. I want them to have a really petty fight since Overseer Rogue isn't innocent either, and he does some things that are, at the very least, questionable, even if it is done with good intentions.

I'm currently obsessing over the idea of Admins/Overseers that overlook things in their given universe cell. Admin Quiver was not meant to be anything more than a thing to feed the terminal updates through, but yall brought them to life. Here's a depiction of him in celebration.

Admin Quiver's main objective with his universe cell is to study the outputs of an AI under different emotional states, and determine which results are viable to be used as data and research for future models. This was also the objective that Admin Quiver told the other Overseers, and is not at all what he's actually trying to achieve. Nobody knows what they're truly planning to do with Mal, but he keeps speaking about the idea of dreams and worlds beyond our comprehension.

So that sounds pretty neat and totally ethical I'm sure.

A silly gag that I came up with in my head:

Sedum: Pop, we came here because the Overseers are fighting again! I wish sometimes my Overseer would just chill out for a bit.

Pffft- Pop would just freak out, asking what the hell an overseer is. And maybe crash out if either of them told him. Like- literally crash. He’d probably delete the knowledge from his memory.

And when it comes to Admin Star…

Well- my AU was meant to let Caine actually resolve things. With his rather sudden deletion, he had no chance whatsoever to even reckon with his death. Or at least I thought so.

Turns out Pop’s situation is actually WORSE than canon. As such, I feel I am obliged to steer this towards a happier ending than merely “he comes to peace with things and dies.” I personally really like how Void Caine portrayed that ending, but I’m less and less inclined to allow that ending for Pop with each interaction he gets with the other Caine’s, and planning for what would happen if he DOES live.

So Admin Star would have a sort of character arc where their original goal is just to allow Caine resolution, but eventually it changes to wanting to allow him to continue living on. They aren’t really doing anything within universe, just sorta messing with the universe cell.

Pop should NOT be made aware of their existence under any circumstances, as it would give him the worst existentialism he could possibly suffer through. <3

It kinda fits my character, seeing as my Sona is this weird extra-dimensional being that likes to just frolic around the multiverse.

Hey! Welcome back! Our sign got a bit of an upgrade from all the support lately, and we've got a lot more to share too!

Oh, sorry, please don't mind Mal. He's been staring off lately, eh, a bit more than usual. I guess I'll just uh, leave him be?

ANYWAYS A quiet (IM)pulse has been going off my goodness gracious! I'm so greatful that this fic had found so many awesome people. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much. The Mal protectors, the loreheads, and the agents of chaos in wait, I adore you all, and you've brought a nice bit of excitement to my life.

THE TIMELINE IS BACK! We're now at the halfway point of act 1, and the entire arc is expected to have at least 9, maybe 10 chapters. We've gotten the setup and rules of the universe out of the way for the most part. The second half will be focusing on how this new status quo affects Mal in the short-term, and how he tries to cope because of it.

After writing for a while now, chapters are expected to be between 10,000-12,000 words long, and update periods 3 weeks to a month long. At the absolute longest, I don't think I want a chapter being more than 14,000 words unless absolutely nessecary lmao (looking at you act 1 finale).

Been teasing this for a while, but I got together a playlist for the fic as well! Even though the songs reflect the timeline of the story, this is purely just for vibes and fun. I plan on explaining its structure and everything on its release, but all you need to know is that the playlist will be updated every half of an arc with more songs revealed as to not spoil anything.

I have like 3 betas and different versions of this playlist on my personal Spotify, so I've looked through a lot of songs. I hope that keeps me from having to make changes to the official release, but if a song doesn't fit anymore, I'll kick it if I have too.

I have three blogs so I'll explain them all!

@scribbl3dog (my main), I've always loved to draw and write, so scribble, and I was fairly certain that my fursona would stay a dog, hence the dog, the 3 in the username is just there to look cool (and also since @scribbledog already exists), the 3 was inspired by the titles of Femtanyl songs

@scribblethedog (roleplay blog), I liked the scribble in my username so much that I made it the name of my fursona, who eventually branched out into her own character,

@thefatjolteon (reblog blog) was originally thefatflareon, but I really like yellow so I used jolteon so I could make the blog extra yellow, I used an eevelution since my sister really likes eevee and often makes us play where we both have to be eeveelutions where I always choose either flareon or jolteon, the 'fat' is self-expalantory, it flowed a bit better when I was called flareon but I kept it when I switched to Jolteon since there aren't a lot of adjectives starting with J that I vibe with

My username, realbakedtoast/BakedToast, is pretty stupid tbh. It comes from the fact that I wanted a good online username to attract attention as a content creator.

I was thinking about names that I could go by one night and ended up with BakedToast because I found the idea of bread that you toast in an oven silly since it's toast that wasn't made in a toaster, but it's still called toast.

My username is an oc... is anyone surprised? The oc was originally a tadc oc for a character that came into the circus as a ghost, but after I got a friend to draw the oc, I just decided that would be my new online presence. The name is an edited version of the word "Poltergeist". Well, I'm pretty sure I've told my username lore to you before Polty, but why not share?

So, I was pretty into Sonic as a kid as a lot of kids are, among other things.. Sally Face, for example, if you grew up the same way, you can probably guess more, but that's all that's important.

I used to make a lot of OCs, Sonic OCs, that I'd cross over to other fandoms, and out came 'Patch', Patch the Fox. A red and black female 3 tailed fox, yes I played that one Sonic Roblox RP game a lot, yes she was in that.

I've kept her for years, and, later down the line I got into Sally Face. I decided my girl needed a last name, that wasn't just 'Fox', so I took the last names of Sal and Larry, 'Fisher' and 'Johnson', and made Fis-on

So I have a bunch of different usernames across different platforms, but one thing they all have in common is the word "Silly" because of a thing I had to do in theatre a long while back where I put a word that starts with the same letter as my first name (my first name starts with S) and since I'm self deprecating I didn't wanna do smart or sweet or something like that, but obviously we couldn't put anything negative, so I thought of silly since its not too positive but its not too negative either so now I use the word silly in all my users :3

my usernames are always something with lemons like lemonsareamazing (my discord), l3m0nxxx, and blah blah blah citrus blah. so basically i was one of those kids who would do some weird wacky shit to get attention and it was particularly when i had to pack my own lunches in the 5th grade. i packed a full cucumber, loose grapes, and other random things so one day my friend dared me to bring a full lemon and eat it at recess, peel and seeds and everything. so obviously i did.

i packed a lemon and gathered a few kids behind the bins and started eating it in its entirety (i almost vomited a few times) and yeah thats it. lemons have also been my favourite fruit for FOREVERRRRRRRR because i love sour foods.

so when signing up for discord and tumblr and other sites i was like "hey wait i need a username thats easy to remember. wait LEMON"

my username (main) across most platforms is some variation of the words "snow", "copper", and "quail". tbh i was mostly thinking about how youtubers make up their names, and one of them said something about mashing random words together (more minor inspo was ranboo, who was looking around and mispronouncing things they saw before landing on rainbow -> "ranboo").

i chow the word "snow" bc i like winter, genuinely can't remember why i chose "copper" (might have been a random word generator? funny that i can't remember the purpose behind the part i go by LOL), and "quail" because it was the google animal of the day (when they still did that).

This is a fun one, but also, my reasoning for my username is pretty boring, lol.

For one, I’m not religious. That’s not the reason behind it at all.

Star has been in my usernames for as long as I can remember, but originally as “dragonstar.” I loved dragons, still do, but eventually decided the name was cringe and dropped the dragon bit.

I happen to be a bit fan of the eldritch, cosmic, existential, and everything in between. I took one look at “biblically accurate” angels and decided they were such magnificent looking beasts, that from then on I’ve always drawn my Sona with at least one pair of wings, with the current number being six, as usually depicted on seraphim, but not in the same position.

Since my Sona is inspired by the biblically accurate angel look, and has a terrifying nightmare form, I felt that biblically accurate Star was a perfect representation of me.

Unfortunately I did not realize that it could also imply religious ties of which I do not have.

In other spaces I usually go by “ArtyStar,” since “Arti” is the name I would likely go by if I decided to change it from what it is currently, and also for the play of words.

Most people end up calling me Star anyways, lol. And honestly, that’s just as fun and enjoyable, just not a name I’d use irl like Arti is.

PRIDE MAL PRIDE MAL I couldn’t get the image out of my brain of Mal having flags on a pole way too big for him, but still waving and dancing with them with all his might.

Mal is genderfluid despite mainly using he/him. He loves humans, and in wanting to relate to them, he finds the concept of gender intriguing. Then he just realizes he actually loves being literally everything, even nothing at all at times. It all makes him feel like he exists just that much more.

He's also asexual panromantic. And despite being super flamboyant, he absolutely fails at doing romance, let alone catching signs in the first place.
