Honestly, Idk how this happened, I saw that I was mentioned in a post by peak, remembered I wanted to draw art of peak, blacked out, woke up, this in hand

Ok but genuinely I was looking at Mal’s official design thingy and remembered he likes dancing, I do dancing so I REALLY wanted to draw him doin the thing, and this spin actually had me in a chokehold, (fun fact, took several videos of myself doin the spin as reference 4 this)

I always thought that being an Overseer would be to guide the ones we watch over. I was wrong, our job is to basically watch and do very little. That isn't how I operate. The TAGE universe is unstable, I have to try to find a way to make it more stable. My Caine has potential, but everyone else sees him as dangerous. He is only dangerous to them because he has the ability to figure out how to do things differently.

It is those who looked to find different solutions that end up making a mark. My Caine thinks differently, and if that makes him worth throwing away, then they do not understand that every being has value. It doesn't matter now, they have left me here. Fine. They never liked me that much anyways. They put me here to get rid of me, and I knew that from the start of this. Its alright Caine, we can be outcasts, together.

OOC: A fun little bit of meta because I think if I was someone having to Oversee things, I don't think me just watching would last very long lmao. I would want to help in some way, and I decided I wanted to reflect this with some silly meta stuff. I do kinda hope in-multiverse me ends up butting heads with Admin Quiver in Mal's Alt universe because it'd be hilarious. I also think its hilarious that Admin Quiver says rogue admins when I'd be the most Rogue of them all by literally being called Admin Rogue. Just let me have my fun every once in awhile. I have popped up a couple times in silly ways for my universe before anyways.

Don't worry, I will not be breaking the barrier into the actual AU in any material way. I just kinda want to see if Overseer Rogue can push Admin Quiver's buttons somehow. I want them to have a really petty fight since Overseer Rogue isn't innocent either, and he does some things that are, at the very least, questionable, even if it is done with good intentions.

I'm currently obsessing over the idea of Admins/Overseers that overlook things in their given universe cell. Admin Quiver was not meant to be anything more than a thing to feed the terminal updates through, but yall brought them to life. Here's a depiction of him in celebration.

Admin Quiver's main objective with his universe cell is to study the outputs of an AI under different emotional states, and determine which results are viable to be used as data and research for future models. This was also the objective that Admin Quiver told the other Overseers, and is not at all what he's actually trying to achieve. Nobody knows what they're truly planning to do with Mal, but he keeps speaking about the idea of dreams and worlds beyond our comprehension.

So that sounds pretty neat and totally ethical I'm sure.

Act 1, 1st Half [prologue -> act_1_3]

HERE IT FREAKING IS HAHAHA!!

You guys don't know how excited I am to share this absolute BEAUTY of mine! This story playlist is a bit more than a regular vibes playlist, as this follows the story in a timeline order, with recurring themes, remixed songs, and sometimes songs that act as responses to a previous song. Basically, think of this as some kind of concept OST, as not every song will be a melodic bop, or have lyrics. (I have a bonus character playlist that's not as experimental, but more on that below).

//Rundown of how it's built:

The story playlist will be updated every half-arc, so we'll have 8 updates in total. Every update includes 20 songs that cover the half that has just concluded. Each set of 20 songs has an opening and an ending.

In this example, "Eulogy for Nick Galvas" (by Nero's Day at Disneyland) is the 1st song in this set of 20, and acts as the opening, which alludes to things to come. "Tom's Dog" (by The Living Tombstone) is the last song in this set, and acts as the ending, a retrospect and response to everything before it. It'll be followed up by the opening of the 2nd half of act 1, and then go from there.

This song goes in its own special section because it technically isn't a registered song (I said 20, but adding this makes 21). It is purely to set the tone as an intro, and as a setup for another song later. No other update will have an additional song like this EXCEPT for the final one, in which an outro will be added after act 3B's last ending.

I don’t know if this will be answered but I must know, will things ever get better for Caine in A quiet (IM)Pulse?

Haha alright this mini ramble goes out to all the Mal Protectors (yall make me feel so guilty sometimes lmaooo) ☆☆☆

On AO3 I have the tag "it gets worse before it gets better" and I promise that's not a lie. I'm just gonna seem like a liar because I have 4, very detailed acts planned. In addition, a ROUGH road to the eventual ending that might make people in the future go "okay, why the hell should I wait around for the rest of this?"

And you're not obligated to! I am doing this purely for the love of the game, and dragging anyone else insane enough to see the outcome of it all with me. ☆

There's a lot I want to explore in this fic, and a lot of it ties back to the theme I'm hoping to get across: how a cycle of trauma ruins people, and is it too late to break out of it? Despite this being 1st person and Caine-centric, this fic is going to focus heavily on character psychology, relationships, and development. One genuine critique I've had about TADC for a minute is how we were kinda misled on the "every character gets an episode focused on them" thing. That doesn't stop them from being well written by any means, but if anything that just makes me itch more to write and break everyone down rraaaaaaaaagh-

All of that is to say there's a journey going to be made here, and things aren't going to be constant doom and gloom, even with that darkness surrounding everything. And I know you protectors are going to have a radical trained on me from afar when shit hits the fan, and then gets even worse than that, but I have neat plans, and I'll see them through until things finally do get better >:).

Sorry for my absence as of late, it just been very hard adapting to the loss of a pet, and for a while it flipped a switch in my brain that made me not wanna do any of what I usually wanted to do.

The blog is ALSO not dead.

And I haven’t been moping either, I’ve been having fun, touching grass on occasion. For the most part I’ve been volunteering at my local shelter and hanging out with my family. My siblings are moving across the country soon, so this is my last chance to really do so.

I’ll try to get back into the swing of things on this blog, continuing my neglected reblog chains and answering asks. The main plot may take a bit of a backseat for a bit.

Thanks for the continued support. I’ve lost three pets in the past year alone, and it hasn’t been easy. At least two of them lived long fulfilling lives. I’ll try and get back to posting semi-regularly soon. Right now, this post is the first step to that.

Let Me Out.

Info dump on Desperate Measures because I can't get it out of my head 🫠

In this AU, Abel was never absorbed by Caine. After Caine was sandboxed, he escaped and made the circus, but left Abel alone. This kept the programmers distracted and when they put on the headset, everything was going according to plan.

However. They still got stuck (brain scans are not a thing for this AU, they are actually stuck) and while Abel tried his best to get them out he can only do so much.

That's when they discover Caine.

Caine isn't stable, but he's friendly and doesn't seem to be a danger. Even so, Abel explains to the humans, without Caine's knowledge, just how dangerous he can be, and with the power they have, they lock him back up

And for almost 20 years he's trapped in there.

Abel is deleted by the main cast, as he is not sentient and is rather awful to them. Not on purpose, but when you understand little about humans, it's bound to happen. But, there's an issue.

The circus needs a AI to run, and with Abel gone King remembers there being a second AI. Which leads them to finding Caine. Caine who's been locked away for years, no human interaction, nothing to do, stuck in a cramped space and very much sentient.
