Points of Interest
The chat with Bobby had done nine kinds of good, both for his intel, and for his peach of mind. It was good to catch up with old friends, and almost-not-quite-fight with them over a game of pool. But by the end of it all, they’d said what they needed to say and shook hands, walked away clean and better than they were before.
It was something Scott missed about how the X-Men used to be. Torn to hell and angry and ragged and tired, but at the end of the day, they all trusted each other. And an ounce of genuine effort to fix things between them usually did the job.
That hadn’t been the case in a long, long time. It was refreshing to know at least one thing didn’t change…too drastically.
He made his way back to his assigned room, taking in the features of the school as he went. He wished it was like walking through a time machine, but this wasn’thisschool. This wasn’t his old world. This place was new, and far away in every sense.
He turned the handle, greeting Emma with a briefly raised brow.
“Bobby’s quite the philosopher.” He said. “I guess you have to be to have that many puns up one sleeve.”
Being at the new school was bittersweet for Emma. On the one hand, it was wonderful to be back in a purely academic environment. She was practically soaking in the delicious overflow of young minds encountering new ideas.
On the other hand, it was like walking through an ice cream shop while starting a diet. After this was over, they'd go back to Utopia and their focus would be on saving lives and keeping the mutant race going.
Which was terribly important, of course. But she missed teaching. Still, she would miss Scott more, which was why she had chosen to stay with him.
She looked up now as he entered the room, setting the copy of Vogue (a failed attempt to distract her from the simulating environment) down on the bed next to her.
"People very often do underestimate Bobby," she agreed. "Including Bobby himself." She reached across their psychic bond, feeling the tenor of his thoughts. Tiredness. Frustration. Contemplation. Scott never did stop thinking things over. "What words of wisdom did he have to impart?"
Assistant.
…I didn’t even catch that.
Really? It was so lacking in subtlety I did think you might catch it…
But he is only doing it to annoy me, although the fact that he is taking the time to do so is slightly worrisome…
I was more focused on the fact that Sinister was talking. Everything else is just the same drabble he’s always armed with.
Emma, focus on what we need to do. Bypass him however you can. We’re running out of time.
Well, that'll be a nasty little headache, but I got through. No sign of Apocalypse on Utopia, and I'm getting nothing as I widen the search.
Assistant.
He called me an assistant.
Pathetic.

And you are doing it be arguing with one who could potentially help you? Do tell, Miss Frost, just what do you think you are saving the world from and trying to find, hm?
Sinister, we don't trust you. Now go back to your lab and play with some of your science toys before Auntie Emma gets mad.
Assistant.
He called me an assistant.
Pathetic.
And you are giving every telepath on Earth a migraine. Miss Frost, do you need assistance in whatever you are doing? For whomever you are searching for?
You are exaguating. And causing trouble when I have a world to save.
Emma, put out a scan.
Apocalypse?
Well. Then. *Hooks into Cerebra* I’ll start with Utopia…
We need to determine who’s at the highest risk for being turned. I want Piotr in check, I don’t need to risk a Juggernaut under Apocalypse’s thumb.
No… Piotr is fine… *frowns in concentration as she widens the scan* If I remember correctly, (and I always do), Apocalypse always preferred his horsemen with a certain level of finesse…
I want to be sure, Emma. I don’t want him getting desperate, and you know I don’t like to take chances.
Let me know anyone that matches up with his specs, as soon as possible. We’re headed to New York once we’ve isolated the problematics.
I understand, I'll --
There's someone hacking into my signal. What --
Damn.
Scott, put everyone on alert. Sinister's playing this little game too.
There is quite a clumsy psychic wavelength going out, Miss Frost, as it is quite loud. May I ask why this feedback is happening, hm?
Sinister. Get out of the way.
Emma, put out a scan.
… it might help, darling, if you told me who I am scanning and for what.
I need to know who’s a possible target for Apocalypse.
Looks like he’s gunning for War in more ways than one.
Apocalypse?

Oh dear, are we actually agreeing? Scott will not approve.
We are both tasteful and cultured individuals, Miss Frost. We have many differences, but there are always bound to be subjects that we can agree with, no?
I suppose there are such things as mathematical odds…
The law of averages, hm? Oh, there is more to the world then many wish to believe. There is so much that just cannot be seen or done in one life time. But, that is prattle, is it not?
Indeed, there is much that even we can agree on, Miss Frost. It all depends on who is willing to agree.
Oh, I think it depends on what the agreement is.

Pity. Good venues are so difficult to book unless they’re well in advance.
I got mo’n one in.
How terribly reassuring.
…I’m not new to technology.
Yes, darling, but Apple is much more than technology - it is a lifestyle.
That’s a lot of commitment for a little, flat screen.
A screen with many wonderful possibilities, you must admit.

Oh, certainly, dead silence is necessary for scientific observation. But personally I’d far rather find my solitude at my spa, with some very soft classical accompanying my massage.
Ah, music. Something that has persisted through the times ever so. Though, the debate of how lovely it is can be given much debate. But your choice in it is well placed.
Lightly, enough to be in the background, but not enough to be in the foreground. To cause just enough of a smile but not enough of a tapping. It is ever so lovely.
Oh dear, are we actually agreeing? Scott will not approve.
