“Why, thank you. You are just full of compliments, aren’t you?” she said, using her best flirty giggle. “Unfortunately, though, you’re going to have to try harder than that. Trust me, I already know that I’m pretty.” Okay, so she was pretending to be a bit more confident than she really was it was fun. After all, it took way more than just complimenting Alice’s beauty to get her into bed. 

“Mmhm, yes ma’am,” He moved in closer to her, slipping an arm around her waist again. “It’s easy to find things to compliment when someone’s as beautiful as you are. I think you might just be the prettiest girl I’ve seen.” Adrian hummed softly, giving her hip a gentle squeeze. He knew that he was being pretty pushy and straightforward, but that was just his way - he was inexperienced in the field of playing coy.

She laughed at his compliment. “Um, I disagree and you couldn’t possibly know that because you just got here. Trust me, there are some beautiful women here.”

“Hey, man, I know a hot girl when I see one. I don’t think anyone could even come close to you.” At this point, Adrian was just rambling because he was trying to get closer to his goal of bedding Alice, and said what he thought she wanted to hear. “I mean, seriously, you are absolutely gorgeous. So pretty.”

She chuckled and shook her head. “No, I’m not. But believe me, there are plenty of people here who will gladly take you up on that offer.”

“It would be so much more fun if you’d be my volunteer,” Adrian looked over at her with a smirk. “I mean, really, you’re the hottest chick in this joint.”

She smirked, though part of her was afraid she was being a bit too flirty. Something about him intrigued her and she didn’t like it. “Trust me, you should try it. I think you’d like it.”

Looking over at her, Adrian grinned widely. “Are you volunteering to get me to try it?” He asked, brows raised - he knew the answer already, but he still wanted to push it a little. “Because that would be great.”

“Hey.” James swatted his hand. “My poor boy, no wonder you were in jail - can’t run from the police.” 

Leaning up, he pressed a gentle kiss to James’ shoulder and hummed softly. “Yeah, I don’t run,” He laughed a little. “I couldn’t run even if I wanted to.”

“Jeez, your whole arm?” Adrian raised his brows, grinning. “That’s pretty fucked up, man. I’m the devil, and some like to say that I’m the leader of a cult who just so happened to help his pals descend into the afterlife. But I don’t see the problem with it, really.”

“Because I am one who believes things when there is evidence before me.” Eris pointed out “Okay, but if it really is God messing with you, then why doesn’t he have better things to do? I mean, he’s God.” she then gestured to everything around her “Sure you’re not just overthinking the idea? Maybe you really want the attention from him?”

“I am evidence, sitting right in front of your eyes. You just refuse to believe it.” Adrian shook his head, running a hand through his hair. “He’s a prick, he’d rather ruin my reputation than do anything productive to help the world. Trust me, dear, he is awful. How he really is, is how he’s made me out to be. If I could go the rest of my eternal life without having to get attention from him, I would.”

“Very unlikely you will get either of those. Maybe some yogurt and a baby cookie, and some lemon water.” James shrugged. He wasn’t too sure for what he wanted to eat, but he brought Adrian attached to his side over to the food counter before grabbing a plate. “I want celery, and some peanut butter.”

“Fuck that, I don’t want that stuff. I want ice cream sandwiches and soda.” Adrian pinched James’ hip where he had his hand resting, a little huff escaping him. “That’s too healthy. I need sugar in my system - my diet is just sugar, that’s what keeps me alive, I bet.”

James didn’t feel to jealous. He was well aware how Adrian was his and he knew he was too good for Adrian to just give up and chose someone else. “Okay, baby.” He chuckled, going into the cafeteria. “Let’s get you some ice cream so you can hush.”

Adrian hated that James didn’t ever seem to get jealous, but he still figured that it was worth a shot. He was wrapped around the other’s finger, so even if he did make James jealous then nothing would ever come of it. “I want an ice cream sandwich,” He hummed, moving in closer to James. “And some sprite.”

“Sure there, Adrian. You were rather entertaining.” It was mostly from his delusions and just listening to him speak out loud of his adventures before being put in prison. “I definitely noticed - made me angry, though I knew you couldn’t resist me.”

“They thought I was pretty,” Adrian drawled out - he was trying to make James a little jealous, get something out of him. He missed the pinch of anger that he could always count on the other for. “Yeah, I couldn’t resist you. They couldn’t resist me, either.”

“It was a theory I liked, it was merely one to voice though I suppose none of us will know the actual truth until the day that we die” she said simply, telling him in small words that she still didn’t believe him. “Sounds almost a little self centred to believe that he’s solely out to make you look bad?”

“You know the truth now since I’ve told you, you just refuse to believe it,” Adrian countered, cocking a brow as a little smirk settled on his lips. “He’s the one that’s self centered, my friend. He’s done this to me for ages, just for the hell of it. I’m not the one in the wrong here.”

Alex paused for a moment “I think you and my brother would get along just wonderfully.” He nodded. “Oh no, he’d gladly do it. He’s almost killed me at least a dozen times.”

“Huh,” He grinned. “What’d you do to him that was so bad that warranted being killed, hmm? Or was he just doing it because he felt like it?”

“Good boy.” He liked heading about it, which just mostly gave him a sense of pride in the situation. “What else are you doing here? I have missed you - there was nothing happening back in prison after you left - one guy tried to escape, you know John from the few rooms down who worked in the cafeteria, yeah him.” James just talked, mostly liking the house of his own voice.

He grinned, moving in a bit closer to James and resting his head on his shoulder. “I like to think that I was the main event in our cell block,” He murmured, easily finding a way to slip in a slight change of subject. “I know you noticed how all of those other guys looked at me.” Adrian was just trying to get a reaction out of James at this point. “I know you noticed.”

“You’ve got a brother?” He raised his brows. “Me too. But mine was the target of the sacrificing, though it never worked out how I wanted it to. I don’t think your brother would wanna help sacrifice you.”

“What about all that trouble you get in?” James asked. He just wanted to hear more about the trouble that Adrian caused and less about the feelings - it was what drew him to him in the first place. “You don’t have to get anything at all then.”

Adrian hummed, thinking it over for a few seconds. “I caused a little trouble on the way here, they wanted to sedate me but I threatened to rip out their throats if they did - it worked. They did put me behind the separator gate in the squad car, though, they didn’t want me being able to grab ‘em and shit. There was a little scuffle when we got here, too.”
