âI think so too.â Came a quiet, toneless response upon the Batterâs approach.
But he paused with some distance remaining between him and the merchant, sensing then that this wasnât the masked figure he was familiar with. His gaze shifted aside to briefly roam the area. It looked no different than the purified zones of his own world⊠but perhaps it was, in fact, another, and he had failed to notice until now.
His eyes returned for the merchant, studying the foreign Zacharie with some amount of caution that hadnât been there a moment ago.
The unexpected voice startles Zacharie somewhat, though he does his best not to show any physical indications thereof. He turns, and immediately frowns upon seeing the speaker.
Ah. Look whoâs shown up. Zacharie has not seen any Batters in quite some time, and he expected to keep going along like that. Eyes narrow behind the mask. Zacharie doesnât bother to check if this Batter is native to his file or not; heâs not close enough to inspect and Zacharieâs a bit too distracted with being bitter. âI donât believe you have the right for an opinion on that, my friend.â
Heâs not going to outright tell this Batter to piss off, but heâs not exactly going to pull out the chipper demeanor for him.
