And I'm used to watering down these disparate little parts of me --
making part that which should have only been taken in, whole --
that which I wish I had known, then, was worthy of being cherished for what it was --
thing is... diluting self only dilutes the connections had,
so of course it all felt so fickle, every kiss and touch had ringing so hollow --
And I say "no more."
in the here, and now? I no longer feel like my flavor must be so harsh to the tongue --
no longer feel like there is bitter, in this sweet --
or, at least, I've realized, finally, that there are people out there who can savor me, like I want to feel I should be --
people out in the world that might treat me like a delicacy --
something precious that I wish that I was, or could possibly be --
"If you could taste my demeanor --" V. Rue, 2025.
