BIOGRAPHY

Winnipeg, Canada is the only thing that Skylar knows about her past. It was where she was born but it wasn’t where she grew up. Skylar was given up for adoption and was taken in by James and Emily Dellinger. The Dellingers had tried for many years to get pregnant but Emily found out that she couldn’t ever have children. So, naturally, the couple started to look for babies that they could adopt. A few fell through and it wasn’t until Skylar came into the picture that they finally had hope of a family. And everything worked out according to plan. She was given to them as a baby and they couldn’t have been happier for that. They finally had the little family that they always wanted to have and all their wishes came true. Skylar was the perfect baby, never crying unless she needed to be fed or changed. She was never fussy or wanted more attention than what she was given and this continued through her adolescent years as well. When Skylar was seven, that’s when tragedy struck. The Dellingers had a party at their house for New Years and everyone was having fun until there was a knock on the door and four masked men came into their house with guns.

Shots were fired and everyone ran for cover. Skylar had been upstairs the whole time and when she heard a lot of noise, she went to check to see what was going on. The sight in front of her was a sight to scar her for life. Blood splattered everywhere, bodies on the ground, and her parents begging to leave their daughter alone. Skylar tried to run toward her parents but a figure stopped her and it was then that she saw her parents get murdered right in front of her eyes. For the next hour or so, Skylar watched as the men raided her home taking everything that her parents had worked for. Everything that could be taken was and just as the guys had left, the police showed up. They took the little girl down to the station and asked what had happened. It was then that she was taken and put into foster care where she spent the next eleven years going from home to home because nobody wanted her. When she turned 18, Skylar moved to California and became a bartender.

She had tried to take classes at the local college in order to get her high school diploma but she felt too stupid and didn’t even bother trying to do it anymore. Instead, she found a club that would teach her how to make drinks and that’s exactly what she’s been doing. When she’s not bartending, she tends to dance at the club where she works making more money than she ever thought she could make growing up. More recently, though, she’s wondered about her birth family and what they were like and whether she had any brothers or sisters out there. Part of her didn’t want to know but the other part of her needed to know so she found The Gemini Connect and signed up secretly hoping to find someone.

QUESTION: What made you sign up for Gemini Connect?

ANSWER: Well, I wanted to see if I had any siblings out there in the world. Not that I actually care if I do or not but you know how the saying goes; Curiosity killed the cat.

QUESTION: When did you find out you were adopted? What was that experience like?

ANSWER: I found out that I was adopted when I was five. Before I started school, my parents sat me down and told me that they couldn’t have a baby so they adopted me and I was their miracle. I kind of always had a feeling, even at that age, because I didn’t look like them but I never knew what that feeling was or what that meant. I was too young to know what that meant but they were my parents and that was all that mattered. I was glad that they told me at such a young age and it wasn’t a traumatic thing like everyone says finding out your adopted is.

QUESTION: What’s your birth information? Please include what country/state you were born in, what day, and how old you are.

ANSWER: I was born on August 16th in Winnipeg, Canada which makes me 21 years old. Basically that is all I know about my birth information. I don’t know anything else and frankly I’m okay with that.

QUESTION: What’s your home life like? Are your parents accepting of your choice to join Gemini? Do they know?

ANSWER: My parents are dead but if they were alive, they would have been completely supportive of it. They were always supportive of the things that I wanted to do and this would have just been another thing. Once I hit 18, I didn’t have a home life and before that? It was shitty. Now, I live in a small one bedroom apartment close to the club that I work in. I don’t have any family left so I’m essentially alone so what does that tell you?
