“Well it’s not a big deal as long as they’re careful, kero. Shrine maidens can be in a relationship with youkai no problem, but part of being a maiden is to maintain her purity until she’s married or comes of age and becomes the priestess. It’s silly for me to be super serious and scrunchy and wound up about it, though. That’s Kana-chan’s thing.”

"O-kay. Let's do this." Standing in front of the tiny shrine in their own living room, Chase lits a small candle and smacks his hands together for a prayer. He couldn't incense in the house and those smelled too weird anyway. "Krhm. Testing, testing. Is the frog lady there?" This was silly. But he had to try just out of curiosity.

Nothing would happen at first when the boy offered up the prayer. Then again, it was a pretty tall ask for a goddess in another dimension entirely to make it to her shrine every time it got attention. It was simply a large burn of energy. Still, he’d be surprise to feel a small, doll-sized goddess plopping to sit on his head.

“Hey there, cutie! You’re still calling me frog lady even after you’ve grown a bit? Is your memory that bad, kero?”
