The lives of Heroes are never the easiest. Theyāre constantly in danger, throwing themselves into danger and helping others avoid danger. At least⦠thatās what you think. Never one to dream about becoming a Hero despite your supposedly āHero-like Quirkā youāve only ever witnessed the lives and work of Heroes from afarāand happily so. You can never imagine yourself doing such dangerous albeit selfless deeds and constantly wonder about all the ways you could perish if you ever pursued such a path. Unfortunately, you get the privilege of experiencing a similar fear on a daily basis, except now itās vicariously through your beloved Alphas.
In actuality, it isnāt fair to use the term āunfortunatelyā when describing your rather unique relationship with Tamaki and Mirio. In this world there are no certainties with the only exception being your love for your Alphas and their love for one another and you.
Despite their endlessly hectic schedules, theyāve managed to set a routine in place that, in the beginning of your mated relationship, they swore to never break. Every morning they would wake up at the same time while you would rise half an hour later, just in time to prepare them healthy breakfasts. They would walk into the living room, ready for work, and each give you a kiss on the cheek before enthusiastically devouring whatever youāve blessed them with that day. During which you will freshen up and come back out with enough time to bid them farewell and eat the breakfast theyāve quickly put together for you.
Most nights are left open since neither of them can predict the type of overtime that gets unceremoniously thrown their way. During busier seasons, you often find yourself going to bed without even seeing either of them return home but you never mindāno matter how much the Omega in your yearns to be in the arms of your Alphasāsince youāll undoubtedly wake up to being sandwiched between Tamaki and Mirio.
This morning, however, for the first time in years, you awoke to an empty bed.
Almost immediately a whine of disapproval escapes your lips and your hand flies up to slap itself over your mouth, your eyes widening slightly from the unsightliness of such a noise. You havenāt heard that ever since you were a teenager. To be fair, that wasnāt too many years ago but still. Finding no reason to get up at your usual timing, you plop back into bed, burying your face in your pillow. Instantly, you turn over, unable to stand the way you can hear so clearly your own racing heartbeat when you lay in such a position.
Itās no big deal, you think to yourself, staring up at the ceiling, it was bound to happen at some point, right? Did I really expect this way of living to go on for the rest of our lives? Theyāre so successful⦠theyāre bound to wanna stay outside a little more.
Surprising even yourself, you feel your eyes begin to water. At first, itās merely from the idea that perhaps this is the beginning of the end, the distinct memory thatāll forever remind you of when and where your unorthodox relationship starts to slowly sink into a loveless acquaintanceship. Quickly, though, your tears turn into those of worry after you check your phone and discover now new messages from them. Almost frantically, you search up every bit of news on them online, unsure if you even want to find any results. Are they safe? Did something happen? Surely theyāre alright? Thereās no way anything bad can happen to them, to your Alphas, of course not, theyāre Suneater and Lemillion, no Villain can compare to them!
In the midst of your ever-growing panic, you fail to notice the sound of your front door opening, followed by two soft thuds and then a series of quick footsteps.
Tamaki and Mirio return home with heavy hearts and exhausted, aching bodies but all of that becomes secondary when their noses pick up a pungent scent in the air, a distressed one. In spite of their legs threatening to collapse underneath them, the two Alphas quick make their way to your shared bedroom and feel their own eyes prickle with hot tears upon seeing the curled-up, trembling body of their beloved Omega in bed. Your phone is clutched tightly in your hand, close to your chest as you sob.
ā(Y/N)!ā they both exclaim simultaneously, each rushing over to their respective sides of the bed. Before you can even process whatās happening, you find yourself trapped in between two warm bodies, entangled in arms, the faces of your Alphas nuzzling into your neck. You can feel Mirioās hand brushing through your hair and Tamakiās fingers clutching onto the fabric of your shirt, shaking ever so slightly.
āDid something happen?ā
Despite your heart lightening and your worries all fading away, your words come out sharp:
āWhere were you guys? Why didnāt you leave me a message or call me or something? I thought youā¦ā
Their chests rumble, soft comforting purrs pouring out of their lips. Mirio hushes you and holds you closer while Tamaki mumbles apologies, himself still on the brink of tears. Once youāve calmed down, they release you from their firm grasps and explain their situation. You, in return, shareāthrough giggles stemmed from the hindsight of how ridiculous you were this morningāthe thoughts that ran through your mind.
āI mean, weāre never gonna let something like that ruin us⦠right?ā you say, feeling your lips curl up into a smile when Mirio reaches out to cup your face in his hand.
āYeah, Omega,ā Tamaki chimes in, āyouāre crazy for thinking that.ā
The rest of the morning you spend in bed with the loves of your life, basking in the warmth they radiate and their scents mingling throughout the room. When the hunger settles in, you have lunch together for the first time in a while before Mirio suggests watching a movie afterwards.
āTama called me crazy,ā you said in an accusatory tone, ābut I swear to god youāre the real psycho here.ā Undeterred by your words, Mirio proceeds to rent the movie anyway. When he turns around to take his seat beside you on the couch, you wriggle closer to Tamaki, hugging his arm firmly against your chest, glaring at your blond Alpha in faux betrayal.
āCāmon, (Y/N),ā he says, chuckling as he scoots towards you, āit wonāt be that bad, right, Tamaki?ā
Your dark-haired Alpha makes a weird noise in response and neither of you can tell if heās agreeing or disagreeing with Mirio. Regardless, the movie begins to play and the two of you give in to Mirioās request to watch IT: Chapter 2. To your knowledge, both Tamaki and you havenāt even watched the first instalment but with Mirio having the brightest smile on Earth, itās hard to say no whenever he suggests a film he wants to watch.
Most of the beginning isnāt too bad. Itās graphic, sure, but nothing you canāt handle. During the more disgusting moments, you find yourself curling into yourself tighter as you lean closer to Tamaki. At one point, you feel a hand tug at the back of your shirt and when you turn, you feel a brief moment of respite. Mirio stares at you longingly, a faint pout adorning his lips, hands still pulling gently at your thin piece of clothing.
Before you can respond properly to his silent request for affection, something seems to jump out of the screen from the corner of your eye and is accompanied by the ungodliest noise youāve ever heard. The sound is so sudden you feel your body jerk almost violently in response. Heart pounding, you fall back into your seat and slam your face into the seat of the couch as if it would be a legitimate hiding method if something that wanted to kill you really did come out of the screen.
You hear the sounds from the television pause before a most comforting scent fills the entire living room.
ā(Y/N)⦠are you okay?ā Tamaki asks, placing the palm of his hand gently on the back of your head. The gesture, alongside the scent of which half of it is contributed by him, calms you and you nearly purr aloud. You respond with a muffled noise that even youāre not sure what it means. āHmm⦠okay,ā he replies, still touching you.
āAhh, Omega, Iām so sorry!ā Mirio exclaims before you feel a familiar body lay on top of you, his arms curling around your middle as he makes what you can only assume is a valiant attempt at hugging you. āIāll never watch a scary movie again! Please forgive me, Omega,ā he whines, the noise making your heart jump as a smile spreads across your face. You mustāve been born with immeasurable luck to have an Alpha who whines so sweetly.
Before you can respond, you feel the weight on top of you increase. Tamakiās hand leaves your hair momentarily but returns soon enough after heās settled himself nicely on top of Mirio and you.
The movie left forgotten, the three of you remain as such. A tower.
