Jensen Ackles is a beautiful person. I discovered Supernatural in 2015, connected with Dean the most because of how he reacted to John's death (very much my vibe when I lost my dad), and have been attending conventions each year since then. I also, through the themes of the show and the inspiration I've received from people and actors at conventions, decided to take control of my health. It's been a hard fought battle, but I've lost over 100 pounds. This year at the Dallas convention I showed Jensen this collage of photo ops during autographs and told him I wanted to show him my journey. He took the time to really look at it then when he lifted his head to address me he gave me the most genuine and happy "This is amazing!" I said that for a long time I thought I was resigned to the way my life was, but that I finally realized that way of thinking was bull. "So, you made a choice." His words were proud and excited for me, and I nodded in agreement. I made a choice. "And?! How do you feel?" That question meant everything to me because the weight loss was never about how I look, but about how I feel. About my health. I smiled wide, exclaiming happily "I feel amazing!" His smile got bigger, he looked at the pictures again and I told him I was going to get the line tattooed. He signed my photo then flipped it over, writing out the words that have become my mantra. You always have a choice. "And now I'm getting it tattooed in your handwriting. Thank you, Jensen." He handed me my picture and gave me a wink. Two days later it was on my arm forever. This moment was better than anything I could have hoped for and can't wait to show him the tattoo at the next convention.

Update: I got to show him my tattoo in New Orleans in November 2021 and told him about enjoying his brewery. We joked about having a choice about beer and he again gave me that amazing smile of his. My opinion of him only gets better the more I interact with him.

Long story short, I wasn’t on Tumblr until late 2013, so my Van Con photos (as unprofessional as they are!) never got seen by too many people. It really is the only con I bothered to take photos of, because my camera was just okay. But I was close enough to get some fairly decent pictures. I thought it would be fun to post, just to show some different shots :) Click on them for a little more clarity.

Fan talking about Jensen as “Oscar material“

When we first saw you in Supernatural we thought “Oh well, he’s really handsome.”

But then we found out that there was more than that, that you have so much more to offer. We think that a good actor can take you to a different place and is able not to only make you forget that you are watching an actor but who also makes you care about the journey of a character. And that you really make people who watch you care about you and your characters and not just because you have a pretty face.

You handle both, tragedy and comedy, with equal ability and your face and eyes speak a thousand words, even when you are saying nothing at all. So, when Supernatural will end, don’t think about it as a conclusion but as a stepping stone which will lead you towards a bright future, because you are Oscar material.

Notice how he accepts it simply and almost jokingly at first, because he doesn’t know how else to react. And then he lets the reality and sincerity of her words get to him and he breaks.

Jensen is beautiful and he needs to be loved like this more often.
