My little stepbrother got one ear pierced recently and every time I look at him, I see a baby ryuk.

a really wanna see a drunk L lawliet knowing damn well he’d never consume alcohol because it disturbs cognitive function and physical movement but maybe there would be a scenario where he would try it perhaps out of curiosity

he walks around the team drunk just not admitting it and tries to get on with his normal work and refuses to admit hes drunk but everyone on the kira case knows hes drunk and theyre so fucking confused

i imagine he says shit that make no sense, like even more confusing and nonsensical than the shit he says while sober.. i think i can imagine him yelling while drunk too like imagine everyone else is drinking and having a good time and then L is like “matsuda STOP YELLING no one CARES.” like wow L ok

I think L would drink something sweet and fruity. Maybe he would like the taste and get drunk the first time on accident. He would also eat some dessert alongside it and it would be a disgustingly sweet combination for anyone else.

This is me reflecting myself onto him but I also like idea of L saying depressing and off-putting things every now and then when he's drunk. Thoughts he would normally keep to himself in order not to disturb the peace. Maybe about how Kira will kill him.

oouggh yes i love this .. yeah i can imagine the task force going to a bar/restaurant or something and somehow someway L gets dragged along with them and orders a fruity drink for the hell of it ,, REALLY likes it and orders a bunch more and without realising it he’s suddenly saying very depressing and weird things and shit that just makes so fucking sense. god knows if it even makes sense to L. and light is seeing L get drunk and finds it VERY amusing for a bit but then L starts yapping about kira and how kira will kill him and he’ll probably never get to see his successors grow up into intelligent young men and whatever … light then quickly decides that even matsuda is fun to talk to even when drunk.

I'm completely projecting my own experiences here, but he would absolutely be ordering flavoured vodka lemonades (bonus points if they're peach or mango because they're the best) or a whole pitcher of a fruity cocktail because they taste the least like alcohol, and the first tell that he's tipsy is that he will order lots of ice cream.

It's 2am for me, so this may be absolute nonsense. I was listening to the death note soundtrack and realised that all the themes related to light and kira (takada and mikami included) use orchestral instruments, whereas the themes related to L, his successors, and the task force use digital and modern instruments. To me, the orchestral sound pairs with the biblical imagery and the whole god of the new world thing, and the modern instruments pair with the scientific, law-abiding opposition. Misa is an interesting one, though, because she has modern instruments, but they're used in a softer way than the others.

Maybe I'm saying things that make sense. Maybe I should just go to sleep.

I could never be an adult. Just budgeted out my money for the next few months but couldn't actually be bothered to do the maths, so wrote down a vague number of how much I think I'll have each month. Prices of things are a problem for future me to worry about.
