Channel One Sound System. This was a short but sweet night, due to complications with venues they had to set up the sound in a space you wouldn't normally see it in. Despite the location and staff who tried to turn the club PA up early, Channel One rose too the challenge and continued to reign supreme.

Congo Natty was a name probably the first name that I'd heard about from the world of underground music. Meeting an artist I'd first learned about reading the back of my older sisters CD's, tapes and flyers she collected from raves and free parties was an almost surreal experience. Rebel MC AKA Congo Natty played out with all of the Younger including Congo Dubs, Phoebe & Nancy at Lakota in Bristol, a city with its own place in the story sound system culture. The Congo Natty Family packing out the club on a Thursday night seemed is a tribute to the reach of dub music, the deejay style evolving through genres into Jungle and Drum and Bass.

My life

I will be posting on here as The Green Years from now on. The Green Years is my way of sharing and exploring Sound System Culture and everything that has been created from it. I will also be using this as a platform to share my photos of my time living in possibly the best City for Sound System culture in the UK, Bristol.
