He might come out of it with bruises when all is said and done, but Hoodie undoubtedly had far more strength than Cody. He'd easily take him down.

An attack on Brian Thomas had to be well calculated. Sticks and stones may break bones and words may be a spider's venom, but in a situation such as this, Cody knew he must proceed with caution.

Toby huffs and walks up to Hoodie, crowding his space. It wasn’t the first time. And it certainly wouldn’t be the last. But Toby trusted Hoodie. He was the one guy who Toby knew that he could push back on who wouldn’t make him feel like shit and yell back at him. Kate contained Toby? No. More like Hoodie helped keep him somewhat stable even when he wasn’t. And for that, Toby appreciated him.

Kate d-doesn’t even talk to me! One second we’re w-walking and the next she’s g-gone! Then we meet back up and she tells me how I did everything w-wrong! At least you and Masky p-put up with me and are n-nicer! Kate’s a b-bitch.
