An idle state he was not prone to - the noble beast rested momentarily without thought to the future, that upwards climb, that eternal struggle towards a view that he would reach alone, his repose only made fierce by that eternally harrowing gaze focused like a blade across the room. Truth be told, he wasn’t actually irritated, nor was he even glaring at anything in particular, but the blond’s resting expression did tend to separate the cannon fodder from the true ammunition. Noting the half-assed frozen t.v. dinner’s less-than-exciting presence wasn’t the issue, he knew he was there, nearby, there was just no reason to do anything about it. He couldn’t call it something as pathetic as ‘companionable silence’, but at the very least, ‘toleration’ wasn’t the best word to describe it, either.
Until, the awkward toaster decided to act out - it was always random, always obnoxious, and nothing he could possibly comprehend or predict - and so, as careful digits spread through those unruly, light locks, he merely froze, emitting a sound almost akin to the beep of a locking car door.
- - this, again? Did he want to die?
“Oi, Half n’ Half, I know yer’ taller’n me, but if ya’ fucking look down on me like that, I’ll end you.”
And yet, he didn’t move away, or utilize an explosive deterrent to the contact, merely growling the rebuttal in low tenor, his look no longer matching his words.
“I got better things ta’ do, ya’ know.”
