“Makes sense. You can work hard at improving your skills but you do kinda have to be good to start with, in most cases. I was a star athlete in school. I’ve always been coordinated. Sports came easy, like art does for you.” She nodded with a smile. “Hey! Look at you go! Not bad!” Shelby ran and slid to hit the ball back, focusing on keeping it going with Harper. It didn’t have to be good, just had to be fun. “Your actually good at this. Who knew?” She always felt that hyping people up improved performance. “That kinda fits your aesthetic. Anti social artist and all.” She shrugged with a playful smile. “We could always grab some food after this if your up for it? Make a day of it.”
“Yeah, exactly. I think I was born with some natural talent, and then over the years I practiced and made myself a better artist.” Harper explained as she was glad that Shelby understood. Some days Harper wondered if either of her birth parents were artists, because she wanted to know how much of her talent came naturally. She had added it to the forever growing list of things she’d ask her birth mother if she ever met her.
Harper sent Shelby a small smile when she managed to hit the ball once more. “Well, I don’t think I’ll be winning any awards, but it seems I can have some fun at least.” She replied as she was enjoying herself. Harper nodded at the suggestion. “Some food would be great.”
