Motherhood..
the journey some may take,
no matter the path.
cherish the moments.

I had my first when I was 23,planned.My second at 25,planned. I always wanted to be done having kids before 30. But, now I feel I was too young. I will be encouraging my daughter's to wait until after 30.

Everybody told me what I would need for baby and I at the hospital, and what we need before baby arrival? But, no one prepared me for after birth or told me anything about what I would need just for myself postpartum.

I give my all to my children each and every day and neglect to give myself the attention I need, But some days every now and than it can feel to much and our own personal battery has died out, it is ok to give ourself the attention we need and step away when we feel overwhelmed. It is normal, you are not alone.

Being the parent your parent wanted is a lot harder when they are no longer here.🎗️🦋

The greatest memory I think our children will remember is letting them climb all over me. They won't know how I was feeling like that was all the energy I could give them.. They will just remember momma let us climb on her like a jungle gym.

To my momma...
Took life by the ropes
Even in death was so hopefull
Gave us memories and traditions to pass on
Dedicated her life to her job
Incredibly caring to everyone she met
Raised four amazing children
Beautiful beyond words

When people ask for my family to come over I remind them I have a hurricane and tornado that follow wherever and are they prepared for that in there house??

I remember when I told a co-worker I was pregnant, the first thing they asked me was this good news or bad? When I told them it was good they then congratulated me and were happy for me. After that moment it made me rethink the way to react to someones pregnancy news. The way they had was so perfect. You never know where someone is mentally and to understand that could mean so much. I would start asking this question and the responses I have gotten are surprising. Be, someones support when they need it most.

Falling...
It happens. When my oldest child had her first big fall, I remember the wave of worry and emotions that washed over us that day my husband and I both cried, the anxiety filled us as we did not know how to handle a fall. Everyone told us it was ok and normal and it happens, I felt like a failed parent because I could not protect my child from the ground. Emotions and fears are heightened when you bring your first child into the world. but, when you have your second all the fears you had change instead of fearing all the first, you worry of what could happen instead.

Unspoken...
The day I bought home my first born child, I full on balled my eyes out crying as I held her in my arms feeding her. Just over taken with emotions and belief that my child was here and I was now a full on parent. I hadn't cried like other people do in the hospital right after birth. But, the moment I was home was a completely different feeling.I had never realized I had been postpartum I still can not seem to believe it because in the moment at that time I didn't know and I thought these feelings were normal. It wasn't until after I had my second child that I realized the weight I held during my first was not normal and I had been dealing with unaddressed postpartum.

My Babies...
The way they grab my hand as they lead me outside. The way they run into my lap when the train scares them. The way their face lights up when the see me. It is the little reminders that tell me I am doing a good job.
