DEAREST FATHER — FRANZ KAFKA
— On the Other Side of Grief with Ocean Vuong, Aaron Schwartz
jiang cheng getting ready to go save everyone's asses and then have a public breakdown: ok... wallet, sword, keys, recently-resurrected brother's dizi, headphones, cunty umbrella.. let's go.
First time I see the full lyrics without it being take me to snurch (snail church)
What really makes this for me is that OP could have phoned it in on the chorus and just repeated the same fics, but no. They found a unique one every time. Class act.
when people tag posts "unreality" it's a signal to people who struggle with discerning reality that a (likely scary if believed to be true) post is not real even though it's written as if it was. it's also a filter tag so those people can opt out of seeing posts like that entirely. many people who rely on the unreality tag are psychotic and struggle with paranoia alongside (or because of) the struggles discerning what's real. posts that these people interpret to be real can lead to incredible distress and compulsions.
when someone tags your post "#unreality" and you screenshot the tags and say "what are you talking about? this is real" because you consider the post easy to discern as not real and find this joke funny you're actually just causing paranoia for people who now feel like they can't trust the unreality tag. not everyone has the same reality discernment skills as you. what's "obviously" a fictional story to you may not be obvious to other people.
I don't think most people make this joke maliciously. I think most people making this joke don't even realize why the unreality tag exists. anyways, if you've made this joke or have the urge to make this joke then consider not doing that.
Many uncles, but one Uncle

EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE
the thing that gets me about the overwhelming santos hate is so much of it feels like people projecting. all the time i see posts about how santos is "a mean bully" (literally quoting), and i think it's such a surface level take. she's written like every popular "gruff with a heart of gold" male character, and this season has really been proving how true that is.
she states she's not a baby person, but still goes in and sings her a lullaby when she (baby jane doe) won't stop crying. she's endlessly trying to reach out and show support to whitaker even when she's obviously exhausted (and maybe going about it the wrong way with the whole amy debacle). and in tonight's episode where she gently takes joy aside to correct her behavior calmly, where was the bully? where was the screaming at a med student over a simple mistake?

Okay, Dad, I know you’re angry.
Oh, I’m beyond angry. I’ve reached a level of fury that you could not possibly comprehend.
Okay, well, when I get back, you can ground me.
Ground you? Ground you? I’m going to hobble you! Now, please, tell me you’re all right. Tell me that you’re safe.
sometimes your favorite fanfic isn't a fanfic at all but the insane DM's between you and your equally freaky mutual
Though I hate EVERYTHING else about Q’s death, him using Minor Mending, the Discipline that he thought was so lame, to save the day, was really cool. A Discipline really did feel like it was so fundamental to each of the characters. The magic that is as natural as breathing to them, the one they didn’t need formal training to use, and the broken depressed suicidal kid had Minor Mending. The guy that was always solving problems by putting his mind to it turned out to be able to fix anything if he just concentrated. And then he uses it to solve a problem so big everyone thought it was impossible by fixing a crack in a mirror. It was poetic in its own way.
Too bad about literally everything else in that fucking episode.
