WELCOME TO THE HIDDEN PATH ARCHIVE!
Your local Jedi: Fallen Order / Jedi: Survivor zine hub (and future Star Wars chaos headquarters).
Hi! I’m Padawan Snack Packer (@padawan-snack-packer), currently the sole mod running this project, but not for long!!👀
This blog is the official home of the Jedi: Fallen Order / Jedi: Survivor Digital Zine (2026) and will also serve as a hub for future Star Wars zines, fan events, and creative projects.
This is the current pinned post with everything related to this zine: timelines, applications, updates, reblogs, promo posts — everything will live here so no one has to dig through the galaxy to find information!
More will be added as the zine progresses, and posts tagged here so you can find the updates!
I./ What This Zine Covers (Read This So We’re All On The Same Page):
This zine is centered on Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor. Meaning the events, characters, themes, and emotional damage from those two games are the heart of this project.
Both games are fully included. Everything that happens in Fallen Order and everything that happens in Survivor is fair territory.
HOWEVER- We are also welcoming anything in the wider Star Wars universe that takes place during the same timeline.
So yes, if it’s happening in that era of the galaxy, and it makes sense chronologically, you can absolutely play in that sandbox.
That said: the priority and central focus of this zine are the characters who appear in the games themselves.
So:
Cal and the Mantis crew?
Characters introduced in Survivor?
Antagonists?
Side characters?
NPCs you got emotionally attached to for no reason?
They are the “main cast” of this project, if that makes sense.
Think of it like this: The games are the sun. Everything else in the galaxy can orbit, but the core gravity is JFO / Survivor.
If you want to include characters like Boba, clones, Kenobi, Ahsoka, etc., and it fits within the timeline? That’s totally fine. Just make sure the piece still feels anchored to the game era and not like we accidentally wandered into an entirely different trilogy. If you have any doubts, feel free to contact the mod team!
In short:
✔ Anything during the JFO / Survivor timeline is welcome. ✔ Crossovers within that era are fine. ✔ Wider galaxy involvement is fine.
…. But the heart of the zine is the Jedi games and their characters.
This is our emotionally unstable Fallen Order / Survivor sandbox first and foremost. Everything else is bonus flavoring.
II/A./ MOD APPLICATIONS:
Mod Applications Open: Sunday, March 1st Mod Applications Close: March 25th
During that time, we will:
• Assemble the mod team • Create the Discord server • Set up sharing platforms (Tumblr, possibly Bluesky, etc.) • Create promo graphics • Finalize contributor application forms • Organize timelines and spreadsheets like civilized gremlins
Here is the mod application form if you're interested:
Hi hello!! First of all: thank you for even considering applying to be a mod! That is HUGE. That is powerful. That is “I am willing to wrang
II/B./ CONTRIBUTORS APPLICATIONS:
Mod Applications Open: April 1st! Mod Applications Close: April 26th!
Before applying, here are a few important points:
• This is a free digital zine (no merch or physical sales planned) • All ships and interpretations are welcome • The project is SFW
• No AI-generated content will be accepted (writing, art, or editing) • Applicants will be asked for samples or portfolio links • Submissions will be checked to ensure they follow the project guidelines
• Contributors retain rights to their work, but agree to let the zine display it as part of the final project.
• Communication will take place primarily on Discord (with accommodations if needed).
• Please only apply if you feel you can reasonably commit to the timeline! We are very pro “real life comes first,” but we also want to respect everyone’s time.
Here is the mod application form if you're interested:
Welcome to the Hidden Path Archive Contributor Application! First, thank you so much for your interest in this project!!! Whether you’re a w
III./ QUEER CONTENT IS ALLOWED:
Let me say this clearly:
All ships are welcome. All queer interpretations are welcome.
This is not a single-ship zine.
A specific ship was tagged early on (merrin x cal), that was simply because my Padawan brain only knew one ship name at the time and did not yet realize there are approximately seventeen trillion in this fandom. That one is on me!
This is not “Ship-Only: The Zine.”
This is: “We Are Emotionally Unwell About These Games: The Zine.”
The only hard boundaries are obvious ones:
No incest
No pedophilia
Nothing illegal or harmful
Beyond that? We are here to create and celebrate. Ship pieces are welcome within the zine, but it is not necessary to join.
IV./ AI POLICY:
This zine is 100% human-made.
That means:
• No AI-generated art • No AI-generated writing • No chatbot-drafted scenes • No AI-assisted rewriting
That includes using tools like ChatGPT, Character AI, or similar platforms to draft, punch up, or rewrite content that ends up in your final submission.
I also learned that some editing platforms now include generative AI features. Basic spellcheck is absolutely fine. AI-powered rewriting or suggestion tools are not.
Spellcheck? Yes. Robot ghostwriters? No.
V./ WHAT THE ZINE WILL ACCEPT:
This is a digital zine and a creative sandbox.
We accept:
• Fics • Illustrations • Comics • Poems • Character studies • Ship pieces • Gen pieces • Edits / VPs • Collages • And more
As long as it’s not AI-generated, hateful, racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, or otherwise harmful: you are welcome here!
VI./ TENTATIVE TIMELINE:
For those who missed the earlier posts, here’s the rough framework I proposed!
I’m personally leaning toward a mid-November release, specifically November 14th — the anniversary of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order — because that feels poetically unhinged and kind of perfect.
BUT this is flexible. If the community prefers a cozy September/October Nightsister vibe, we can absolutely discuss that. Same is peeps prefer a later release. This is meant to be fun, not a military campaign.
Here’s the proposed timeline:
February–March: - Interest check + mod team forming
April: - Contributor applications open
May: - Acceptances + piece claims/prompts
June–August: - Creation period. This is when you work on your pieces. There will be chill check-ins to make sure no one is lost in the void, but no military briefings.
Early September: - First drafts due: By this point, most contributors should have something substantial. Some may even be finished. This helps us catch formatting or timeline issues early.
October: - Final pieces + formatting + submission window - Polish, finalize, turn everything in. This window runs through early November for flexibility.
Early November: - Hard deadline for final submissions: If we release on November 14th, all works must be submitted by November 7th at the absolute latest. This gives the mod team time for final formatting, layout, and last-minute fixes before launch.
Mid-November: - Digital release (around the 14th)
In short: the creation period stretches from June through early November, giving you plenty of space to work at your pace while keeping things structured.
This timeline is a framework and may be adjusted to best fit contributors and mods.
VII./ Frequently Asked Questions:
❓ Can multiple people create pieces about the same character or ship?
Yes.
You are absolutely allowed to pitch the same character or ship as someone else. This isn’t a “first come, first served, no duplicates ever” situation.
However, we will be reviewing pitches as a mod team. If we start noticing that, for example, 14 pieces are about the same exact ship dynamic in the same exact emotional beat, we may gently suggest some adjustments just to keep the zine feeling balanced and varied.
We’re not trying to police enthusiasm, we're not Inquisitors. We just want the final product to feel diverse and cohesive.
Also: contributors can pitch more than one piece if they want to. You are not required to, but you’re welcome to!
And just so you know: I’m both a writer and an artist myself. If we ever need to “balance” something out (for example, we realize we’re short on gen pieces or missing a certain character perspective), I’m happy to step in and add a piece to help round things out.
No one will be forced to change their idea to fix numbers!
❓ What if I need to drop out?
Life happens. School happens. Health happens. Jobs happen. Burnout happens.
If you need to drop, please just tell us as soon as you can. No guilt. No shame. No dramatic exile from the Order.
If someone does have to step away, we’ll likely post their pitch idea as a kind of “bounty board” opportunity in the Discord. That way, if another contributor (writer, artist, editor, etc.) feels inspired and wants to pick it up (or any other idea!), they can.
No pressure. Just options. Communication is the key thing here!
❓ Will there be a Discord?
Yes. This project will run primarily through a Discord server once contributors are accepted.
Why?
Because it’s easier to: • Assign roles • Organize channels • Do check-ins • Share updates • Keep everything centralized
Rather than having information scattered across Tumblr DMs, asks, emails, carrier pigeons, etc.
There will be clear channels for announcements, questions, check-ins, and probably some unhinged screaming about the blorbos.
❓ Are collaborations allowed?
Yes, collaborations are absolutely welcome.
Writer + artist? Two writers? Artist + editor? Chaos gremlin duo energy?
All allowed!
However, and this is important, do it because you genuinely want to collaborate, not because you feel like you should.
Collaborations can be amazing. They can also get complicated if communication styles clash, schedules don’t align, or expectations aren’t discussed early.
If you choose to collaborate: • Set expectations early. • Decide who’s responsible for what. • Communicate clearly.
And if tension or confusion arises at any point, please reach out to the mod team. We’re here to help mediate or clarify, not to judge. The Community Managers will be here for that!
No one should feel stuck or stressed in a creative partnership.
❓ Is this going to be super strict and intense?
No. There will be deadlines and structure, yes, because we want this to actually release and not become a forgotten holocron buried in the sands of time.
But the energy is: Supportive. Organized. Communicative. Human.
Not a military tribunal or Inquisitor briefing.
❓ What is the content rating?
To be very clear: Explicit sexual content is not allowed in this zine.
That includes: • Explicit sexual writing • Explicit sexual art • Pornographic material of any kind
If it’s graphically (or not) sexual, it’s a no. This is a firm boundary for this project.
Romance, tension, etc. are fine, but explicit sexual content will not be accepted. Not even a fade-to-black spicy scene.
As for violence and blood: this is Star Wars. Lightsabers exist. People get stabbed dramatically and fall off platforms for character development.
The exact limits regarding graphic violence will be discussed once the full mod team is formed so we can establish a clear, consistent guideline together. We’re not aiming for gratuitous gore, but we also understand the source material includes combat.
More detailed clarification on that will come once mods are assembled!
❓ Will the zine be free?
Yes. This will be a free digital release.
No paywalls. No secret tiers. No “unlock the holocron for $4.99.”
The goal is accessibility and celebration of the fandom.
If we ever do something more elaborate in the distant future, that would be communicated clearly of course, but for this project? Free digital zine.
❓ How many pieces can I submit?
Contributors can pitch more than one piece if they genuinely want to and feel capable of managing it.
However:
• Quality over quantity • Don’t overcommit • Be realistic about your schedule
We’d rather have one completed piece you’re proud of than three that stress you out.
If we ever feel like someone is stretching themselves too thin, we may gently suggest scaling back, not like a punishment but to protect your sanity and the timeline.
❓ Will there be check-ins?
Yes, but they will be chill.
Expect: • Occasional progress check-ins • Deadline reminders • Support if you’re stuck
Not: • Inquisitor interrogations • “Do you even Jedi?” performance reviews
The goal is to keep everyone on track without killing the creative vibe.
❓ Can mods also contribute pieces to the zine, or is it “mod OR contributor” zine?
Yes, mods are absolutely allowed to create pieces for the zine!
This is not a “mod OR contributor” situation. If a mod would like to write, draw, or otherwise contribute creatively, they are completely welcome to do so.
That said, it’s worth keeping in mind that depending on the role, modding can involve a fair amount of work. Mods help with things like tracking timelines, answering questions, organizing submissions, checking formatting, and occasionally helping contain a bit of creative chaos.
Because of that, we strongly encourage mods to be mindful of their own schedules and limits. If you feel comfortable balancing both roles, that’s totally fine! We just don’t want anyone to feel pressured to take on more than they can reasonably manage.
The goal of this project is to create something fun and collaborative, not to turn it into a Jedi Trial of Endurance.
If at any point a mod feels like their plate is getting too full, we can always adjust responsibilities. Communication is always more important than trying to power through burnout.
❓ Will everyone be credited in the zine?
Yes, absolutely. Everyone involved in the project will be properly credited.
This is a collaborative project, and giving clear credit is extremely important. The final digital zine will include dedicated credit pages listing all contributors. Credits will typically include:
• Your name or username • Your role (writer, artist, editor, etc.) • Your social media, if you’d like it included • Your profile picture, if you’d like that displayed
The mod team will also have a credit section, since organizing and running the project behind the scenes is work as well.
There will also be credits for layout and formatting work, as those roles are essential to making the final zine readable and cohesive. If multiple people work on layout (for example, if something is started by one designer and later completed by another), credits will reflect that clearly — such as “Layout design by X, completed by Y.”
If someone ever needs to step away from the project after contributing work, their work still belongs to them and they will still be credited for what they created. If their work needs to be finished or adapted for the final release, this will always involve communication and permission from the original creator.
And if you need anything at all ( clarification, reassurance, timeline questions, “is this idea okay?”, general screaming) please don’t hesitate to reach out. My DMs are open, asks are open, and I promise I don’t bite. I would much rather answer questions early than have anyone feel confused or unsure. We are building this together, and communication is very much encouraged around here!!!💛
