For generations, the Holloway family has run the Holloway Agency, a family-run practice dedicated to helping those who have died but haven't yet been able to leave.
The Holloways don't remove ghosts, they find out why they're still there. Some spirits need help. Some need answers. Some simply need someone willing to listen. And some are considerably less cooperative.
The Agency operates out of the Holloway family home, with the business occupying the lower floors and the family living above it. And for generations, that's simply been the Holloway way.
Every generation produces a Seer — one member of the family born with the ability to see and communicate with the dead. The Seer eventually inherits the Agency and carries the Holloway name into the next generation
For this generation, that person is Brennan Holloway.
THOMAS HOLLOWAY. Father · Former Seer · Senior Investigator
Thomas is the previous generation's Seer and has spent most of his life working for the Agency. Though he can no longer see ghosts the way he once could, decades of experience have made him an invaluable teacher.
Now, Thomas serves as Brennan's primary trainer and mentor, passing down generations of knowledge that can't be found in any textbook.
He's disciplined, observant, and practical, sometimes to a fault. Thomas has a tendency to approach supernatural work with the same precision he approaches everything else — which can occasionally make it difficult for him to remember that Brennan is his son before he's his successor.
Despite that, Thomas cares deeply about his family and takes their safety seriously.
EVELYN HOLLOWAY. Mother · Research & Case Support
Evelyn works primarily behind the scenes, helping investigate cases, maintain records, and piece together the circumstances surrounding a haunting.
While she understands the Agency and its traditions, she's less concerned with preserving them exactly as they were and more concerned with the people carrying them. She's perceptive, patient, and usually the first person to notice when something is wrong with her children or her husband.
MATTHEW HOLLOWAY. Older Brother · Front Desk · Public Relations
Matthew is usually the first Holloway a client meets.
Charming, composed, and socially perceptive, he's responsible for handling appointments, clients, records, and the general day-to-day running of the Agency. He's good at making people feel like they're in capable hands, even when things are considerably less under control than they appear.
He can't see ghosts himself, though non-Seers can occasionally pick up faint whispers. The Agency's old equipment allows Matthew to amplify these disturbances into fragmented audio and visual information.
BRENNAN HOLLOWAY. Youngest Brother · Current Seer · Future Heir
Brennan is their generation's new seer.
Unlike the rest of his family, he can see and communicate with ghosts directly. His ability first became apparent during his late childhood and early teenage years, and since then, he's been trained by Thomas to eventually inherit the Agency.
Outside of the Agency, Brennan is a college student studying psychology, drawn to the study of people, behavior, memory, grief, and why people hold onto things.
Which is... surprisingly relevant to his home life.
But Brennan's relationship with the role isn't simple. He doesn't necessarily hate the Agency. In fact, he genuinely cares about the people — and ghosts — he helps.
What he struggles with is the idea that being the Seer is supposed to determine the rest of his life.
