We went out to an amazing (AYCE) sushi place last month (on a Sunday) for my birthday so we chose there tonight with reservations (also a Sunday) to splurge from my tournament winnings and it was a not great experience.
Jason and I are not the type to cause a ruckus (and we didn't at all), but we appreciated the manager coming over to apologize and take half off our bill. Basically the kitchen was just super behind and was not ever going to get into a position to catch up. We had been waiting for 5 items for over an hour.
Server still got a 30% tip off the original bill and we won't write the place off, it was just still a bummer. The kids were champs about it, and we used it as an opportunity to talk about patience and how to handle situations like this as a consumer who isn't a dick in frustrating situations.
